Vietnam boasts the world's most promising dairy brand

Surpassing many international "big players," Vinamilk has been honored by Brand Finance as the world's most promising dairy brand, with its brand strength index rated at the highest level – outstanding excellence. What has helped this brand create the miracle?

Vinamilk rated AAA+: Affirming Vietnam's position in the global dairy industry

Headquartered in London (UK), Brand Finance is the world's leading independent brand valuation consultancy, operating in 27 countries and territories. With its global network and deep expertise, the organization has played a pioneering role in setting international standards for brand valuation, trusted by businesses, investors, and management organizations worldwide.

According to the "Food & Drink 2025" report recently released by Brand Finance, Vinamilk continues to be the only Southeast Asian brand named among the global Top 10 most valuable dairy brands. This recognition reinforces its position as the regional representative on the world nutrition map. Thanks to Vinamilk's outstanding contribution, Vietnam has risen to 5th place and accounted for 5.8% of the total global dairy brand value, surpassing countries with long-standing histories in the food industry, including the U.S. (4.1%) and Finland (4.5%).

Notably, Vinamilk has been evaluated as the world's most promising dairy brand in 2025, with an outstanding ranking score compared to "big guys" from China and India. This marks the fourth consecutive year Vinamilk has appeared in the Top 3 most promising dairy brands worldwide since the ranking was first introduced. The evaluation is based on strategic indicators such as customer willingness to recommend the brand, acceptance of premium pricing, trust from financial experts, and long-term growth potential.

This is also the first year Vinamilk has been awarded an AAA+ rating, the highest level on the brand strength scale. The distinction recognizes a brand of exceptional power, capable of sustaining and expanding market share, recognition, trust, and superior profitability compared to competitors. Vinamilk now stands on par with the dairy "big guys" of India and Finland and above many leading names from Europe and the U.S. This achievement has significantly elevated Vinamilk's position on the global food industry map as the only Vietnamese representative among the Top 30 most valuable brands.

Especially in terms of the Brand Strength Index (BSI), which is the core indicator used by Brand Finance to calculate brand value, Vinamilk has been ranked among the Top 5 food brands with the highest BSI worldwide in 2025.

"A well-managed brand not only delivers measurable value by attracting and retaining customers but also enhances talent appeal, strengthens investor confidence, and increases organizational flexibility. In today’s market, a strong brand is not merely an asset, but it is a survival strategy," said Mr. David Haigh, Chairman and CEO of Brand Finance.

Relentlessly raising standards – Secret behind Vinamilk's sustainable brand strength

For brands positioned among the global leaders, rankings are never the result of a short-term communication campaign. In Vinamilk’s case, the core factor lies in the "uncompromising quality" philosophy consistently upheld for nearly five decades. In particular, over the past two years, this philosophy has been elevated into a comprehensive strategy of "relentlessly raising standards."

One of the clearest demonstrations of this vision was the launch of the "white revolution" along with the orientation to develop a farm system meeting international standards, aimed at securing self-sufficiency in fresh milk supply as early as the 1990s. As of now, Vinamilk has managed one of the region's leading dairy herds, with more than 130,000 cows raised under European Organic and Global S.L.P. standards. This system not only guarantees the quality of raw milk but also enables Vinamilk to maintain a stable supply capacity, with a yield of over 1.1 million liters of high-quality fresh milk daily.

Alongside a comprehensive repositioning in 2023, this national brand also set itself the goal of establishing unprecedented standards in Vietnam’s dairy industry. Its key product lines have been continuously upgraded with world-class technologies, including the dual vacuum-sealing technology that produces the "fresh-lock" Vinamilk Green Farm milk, preserving its original freshness; ultrafiltration technology to produce high-protein, calcium-rich, low-fat, lactose-free lines; and the first 6-HMO formula milk in Vietnam. These initiatives represent not only product innovation but also a significant step in raising nutritional standards in the domestic market, creating momentum for other dairy enterprises.

The recent market context has further strengthened Vinamilk's advantage. As consumer trust is affected by incidents of counterfeit and substandard goods, brands with strict control systems from farms and factories to distribution, along with quality certified by reputable international organizations, have become the preferred choice. This is also Vinamilk's way to maintain consumer trust and loyalty, which are factors highly valued by Brand Finance in its BSI assessment.

Beyond core quality, Vinamilk has also demonstrated flexibility in adapting to new consumption trends, most notably the personalization of consumer needs. Its product portfolio has been continuously expanded to serve specialized customer segments, from gelato ice cream for the premium market to Vinamilk Green Farm high-protein Greek-style yogurt and HAYDAY aerated kombucha tea for health-conscious young consumers, as well as nine-grain milk and high-calcium soy milk for those prioritizing wellness.

In terms of finance, Vinamilk has maintained steady growth, strengthening its competitiveness at home while expanding to international markets. Its presence on major retail platforms such as Amazon in the U.S. not only generates revenue but also boosts brand visibility in demanding markets.

Finally, the strategy of sustainable development has become a "long-term lever" for Vinamilk to win consumer trust. Investments in the circular economy, eco-friendly packaging, and efforts to expand "carbon sinks" have not only reinforced its image as a responsible brand but also generated loyalty among environmentally conscious consumers, considered a growing global trend.
