US-Vietnam Cooperation Center opened in Hanoi

(VAN) The center will be a new space open to students, faculty, and the public to refine their spoken and written English, hone their soft skills and participate in interesting and diverse programmes and events.

The US- Vietnam Cooperation Centre was formally opened on the first floor of the library building in the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in Hanoi on May 24.

 

 

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper alongside Mr. Do Hung Viet, Assistant Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Phạm Lan Dung, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Pamnella DeVolder, Counselor for Public Affairs officially cut the ribbon to inaugurate the US -Vietnam Cooperation Centre at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) at 69 Chua Lang Street, Hanoi. Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Embassy in Hanoi.

 

 

The new US-Vietnam Cooperation Centre (USVCC) is a joint cooperation space between the Department of Culture and Information, the US Embassy in Hanoi and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, located in the campus of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

 

 

This cooperation not only emphasises the importance of the relationship between the United States and Vietnam, but also promotes the co-operation between the US Embassy in Hanoi and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. It also demonstrates the commitment of the United States to support the development of a strong, prosperous, and independent Vietnam.

 

 

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper spoke at the opening ceremony of the centre. The US-Vietnam Cooperation Centre at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, is the second US space for joint cooperation in the northern region of Vietnam, after the US Space at Thai Nguyen University.

 

 

The centre is developed on the success of famous programmes of the American Centre Hanoi, such as STEM programmes, English language skills improvement, vocational skills, and women and youth empowerment programmes , and environmental programmes.

 

 

The Centre, along with more than 600 US spaces around the world, helps promote open dialogue, and build bridges of mutual understanding, by acting as learning hubs for students, as well as students. as community spaces for people interested in American culture and values.

 

 

This centre located within the campus of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, is open to scholars, researchers, students, faculty, as well as the general public.

 

 

It will be a forum for educational cultural programmes, research support and academic services. The centre will also support Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam programmes, such as American Studies, English courses, and leadership development, and provide information about the US and its foreign policy.
