The USA purchase the most wooden furniture from Vietnam

According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC), the US wooden furniture imports in August 2021 reached USD 2,25 billion, an increase of 26,6% compared to August 2020.

For the first eight months of 2021, US wooden furniture imports reached USD 16,85 billion, an increase of 54,3% compared to the same session of 2020. The USA imported wooden furniture the most from Vietnam, reaching USD 6.8 billion, increasing 73,3% in comparison with the same period of 2020.

Wooden furniture imported from Vietnam accounts for 40,6% of the US furniture imports total value, up 4,5 percentage points over the same period of 2020. Thus, Vietnam's wooden furniture market share is two times higher than China (ranking second, accounting for 20,3%) in the total value of US wooden furniture imports.

In addition, in the first eight months of 2021, the US also imported large numbers of wooden furniture from markets like China, Mexico, Malaysia, Canada...  

Most of the wooden furniture products imported by the US in the first eight months of 2021 have a sharp increase in value.

Leading the market is the wooden frame chairs with $6,2 billion, increasing 70,8% compared to the same session of 2020. Vietnam and China are the two main supplying markets for the US, with the value accounting for 73,8% of the US wooden frame chairs imports total value.
