Dr. Nhi Le was present at the General Secretary's office when he directed the construction of the Special Issue commemorating the 85th anniversary of the first issue of the Communist Magazine (August 5, 1930 - August 5, 2015).
At exactly 1:38 p.m. on July 19, 2024, the heart of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, one of the outstanding leaders of our Party, a great theorist of our country, a significant cultural figure of our nation, and a very respectful and humane "son" of our People, stopped beating forever. This is a great and irreparable loss for our Party, country, nation, and People.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's 80-year life belongs to the People, the Party, the country, and the nation, and he is truly worthy of the Party's trust and the people's love. His contributions have honored the country's strength and prestige, bringing glory and radiance to the nation's reputation.
As one of the outstanding leaders of the Party, he held several significant positions: Member of the Party Central Committee for 7 terms (from the 7th to the 13th term); Member of the Politburo for 6 consecutive terms (from the 8th to the 13th term); Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo for the 8th term; General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 11th, 12th, and 13th terms; President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2016-2021 term; Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 11th and 12th terms; Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council; Secretary of the Central Military Commission; Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee; Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and the entire Party planned strategies and creatively led comprehensive and synchronous renovation efforts. Over the past nearly 40 years, they promoted the strength of great national unity and international solidarity, achieving great successes of historical significance for a strong Vietnam and the happiness of the people.
As a great and outstanding theorist, a talented and independent strategist, and a steadfast and creative practical leader, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the entire Party inherited and developed the achievements of the Vietnamese revolution. They proactively summarized the country's and international practices, built and developed the Socialist Renovation Theory system, and contributed to supplementing and developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. Over the past 40 years, they have independently and creatively built Vietnamese socialism, enriching the treasure trove of theories and practical revolutionary experiences worldwide and opening up a scientific vision and a platform for action for Vietnamese socialism, keeping pace with the times until 2045.
Simultaneously, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the entire Party, and the people have continually innovated and developed the Vietnamese political system. The pillars of this system are the Party, State, Government, and National Assembly, all designed to meet the country's development requirements in the new period. They have also proactively and actively integrated internationally effectively, constantly enhancing the country's position, strength, and prestige on the international stage.
As a great cultural figure, the General Secretary and the entire Party, on the basis of Vietnamese culture, have assimilated the quintessence of world culture. They have built and developed an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, aiming to create a strong, sustainable, humane Vietnam that accompanies humanity. This effort affirms Vietnam’s strength, honor, and prestige in the global community, striving for a peaceful, friendly, civilized, and progressive world.
As a great personality, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong epitomized the Vietnamese people's position, value, and prestige and the nation's reputation in the international arena. Under the Party's flag and inspired by the spirit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, we are more confident and determined to innovate comprehensively, creatively, and firmly, aiming for a strong Vietnam that keeps pace with global development.
