Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee has just recognized 5 more tea craft villages.
Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee has just recognized 5 more tea craft villages, including: Cham 7A tea craft village and Cham 7C tea craft village, Minh Duc commune (Pho Yen city); Tea craft village in Van Truong hamlet, Son Phu commune, Dinh Hoa district; Tea craft village in Kim Lan hamlet, Yen Lac commune, Phu Luong district; Tea craft village in Khe Mong hamlet, Van Lang commune, Dong Hy district.
Accordingly, currently, Thai Nguyen province has 277 recognized craft villages (184 traditional craft villages and 93 craft villages). Among the 277 craft villages, there are 256 tea craft villages; 7 craft villages processing agricultural products; 11 craft villages specialising in woodworking, bamboo, rattan, and palm weaving and 3 ornamental animal craft villages. Craft villages have created jobs for more than 42,000 workers with an average income of VND 4.5 - 5 million/month.
In recent times, the work of preserving and developing craft villages has always received attention and direction from the Thai Nguyen province. The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 25/QD-UBND dated 1/10/2023 promulgating the Plan to implement the Program to preserve and develop craft villages in Thai Nguyen province for the period 2022 - 2030. Departments and branches of the province and People's Committees of districts and cities have developed and implemented guiding documents, programs and projects to support production development. Consequently, the plan initially contributed to creating jobs and improving people's lives; many products of businesses and cooperatives in craft villages have been recognized as 3,4-star OCOP products and representative agricultural products.
From now until 2025, Thai Nguyen province will continue to implement programs to support craft villages; striving to recognize 12 new craft villages; having over 70% of craft villages operate effectively; and at minimum 50% of craft villages will have OCOP-classified products...
