Farmers livestream to promote their products for the first time

(VAN) Farmers in Muong La, Son La saw livestream sales for the first time in their gardens under the instruction of Vietnam Post's staff.
The sales livestream session started at more than 10 am and lasted for about 45 minutes.

The sales livestream session started at more than 10 am and lasted for about 45 minutes.

The event was hosted in collaboration with the Investment Promotion Center of Son La Province, the Son La Provincial Post, and the Muong La District People's Committee as part of a training program on bringing agricultural goods to the e-commerce platform and live streaming sale.

At 9:30 a.m., about 40 people gathered at Mr. Doan Van Trinh's apple orchard – a member of Hung Thinh Cooperative – to see the live stream activities to sell and promote their agricultural products on Vietnam Post's e-commerce platform Postmart.vn.

The livestream selling session began at 10 a.m. and lasted around 45 minutes, during which viewers could tour Mr. Trinh's apple orchard and learn about the soil's features, climate, agricultural practices, how to make orders, and arrange for delivery...

As soon as it aired, the livestream session presented by two streamers (live broadcasters) drew more than 50 followers and quickly grew in popularity, sometimes reaching more than 120 viewers. At the conclusion of the livestream, the Postmart e-commerce site received 35 orders totaling 250 kg of apples.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huong, Director of Hung Thinh Cooperative, this is the first time that cooperative members have had the chance to approach and experience how to sell on the internet in a real-world setting, which is different from prior training sessions we had attended.

The participants received excellent experience advertising and consuming items during this training session, particularly becoming familiar with the live sales stream and the e-commerce site Postmart.vn.

"In contrast to the old business model, when Son La farmers sell their goods on the e-commerce platform, they must assure and adhere to the floor's stringent requirements regarding product quality and packaging procedure.

We are instructed on proper packaging and transportation techniques to maintain both product freshness and brand visibility. It is anticipated that people around the country would take an interest in and order Son La's traditional agricultural goods, particularly apples "Mr. Huong said.

Nghiem Van Tuan, Director of Son La province's Investment Promotion Center, said that since the circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic is still somewhat problematic, connecting agricultural product consumption to the internet environment is not straightforward. One of the most successful strategies is evaluation. This is also an expansion of the conventional distribution strategy, assisting farmers in expanding their consuming markets across 63 provinces and cities by using technology and combining it with the growth of the e-commerce sector.

Due to the synchronized cooperation of departments and agencies, as well as Vietnam Post's extensive training expertise, it has aided and will continue to assist farmers in developing more efficient sales channels and increasing profitability. Simultaneously, it enables consumers and domestic and international partners to conveniently acquire indigenous agricultural goods " The Investment Promotion Center of Son La Province has always been attentive in recent years in assisting farmers in the province in consuming agricultural goods and the collaboration with the Muong La District People's Committee and the Provincial Post Office has provided farmers with really beneficial experiences for the first time.

Farmers will gain more confidence as they learn to market their agricultural goods via new distribution channels, so strengthening their local economy and contributing to the overall growth of society and their home province "Mr. Nghiem Van Tuan highlighted.
