On the morning of August 3, Khanh Hoa Fisheries Sub-Department coordinated with Van Hung Border Guard Station, and the co-management group to protect aquatic resources in the Reef Marine Ecosystem Protection Zone at Ran Trao, Van Hung commune (Van Ninh, Khanh Hoa) organizes the release of green sea turtle to the natural environment in the Coral Reef Marine Ecosystem Protection Area.

Previously, this pineapple Green sea turtle was received by the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Sub-Department from Australis Vietnam Seafood Co., Ltd., weighing 2kg, 30cm long.
Pineapple tortoise has the scientific name Eretmochelys imbricate. This is one of the rare sea turtles listed in the Red Book of the World Conservation Union (IUCN). This is also one of 5 rare sea turtle species listed in the Vietnam Red Book that are critically endangered and need to be conserved.
