In this year's afforestation season, localities in Quang Binh province continue to vigorously promote planting production forest. By the end of September, the province had planted nearly 6,600 hectares, an increase of 3.5% compared to the plan.
During the process, the quality control of seedlings has been implemented tightly. Around 80% of the seedlings are subject to quality control, resulting in a high survival rate. By the end of the afforestation season, Quang Binh is expected to have planted 9,500 hectares of concentrated forest (including 700 hectares of large timber forest).

In addition, Quang Binh plans to plant more 10.1 million trees during 2021 and 2025. In 2024, the province will plant 1.855 million trees, and so far, 0.7 million trees have been planted. The number of trees is expected to increase significantly in the fourth quarter during the afforestation season.
The work of forest protection, development and change forest use purposes have been strengthened and carried out in accordance with regulations. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development advises the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee to assign plans and approve the design, cost estimates for replacement afforestation when converting forest land for other purposes. As a result, localities and units are more proactive in their task of developing planted forests in the area.
The local agriculture sector has enhanced guidance and support for organizations, businesses to build material areas through ventures and partnerships with tree planters, establishing cooperatives, forest owner groups attached to sustainable forest management and attaining FSC forest certification.
In 2024, an additional 4.500 hectares of production forest received the FSC certification, increasing the total area of FSC-certified planted forest provincially to 10.800 hectares.
