Prime Minister chairs the opening ceremony of Green Growth Exhibition at P4G Summit

(VAN) Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the official welcoming ceremony for high-level delegations attending the P4G Summit 2025 and visiting green startup business booths.

On the afternoon of April 16, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the official welcoming ceremony for international delegations attending the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Vietnam Summit in 2025.

Vietnam is one of the 7 founding members and official partners of P4G. This is the 4th time the Summit has been held and the first multilateral Green Growth Summit hosted by Vietnam.

The P4G Summit, themed “Sustainable and people-centered green transition”, attracted more than 1,000 delegates from 46 countries and international organizations, including the Prime Minister of Laos, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; many ministers of countries, leaders of international organizations, scholars, experts and businesses around the world.

The P4G Summit features ministerial-level discussions on the following topics: Revitalizing and Unleashing Finance Strategy for Global Green Growth (chaired by the Minister of Finance of Vietnam); Riding with the Green Revolution 4.0: The Journey of Transforming the Food System for a Sustainable Era (chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam); Game-changing Technology for Green Transition and Sustainable Development in the Intelligent Age (chaired by the Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam); Investing in People – Shaping the Workforce for the Future Economy (chaired by the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam); Innovative Solutions for the Effective and Sustainable Energy Transition (chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-level delegation visited green start-up booths. Here, delegates learned about solutions for using renewable energy, smart energy; products using recycled materials from agricultural by-products such as pineapple fiber, mushrooms, brewer’s dregs, soybeans, etc.

At the TH Group booth, Labor Hero and Businesswoman Thai Huong shared the strategy for developing a green economy and a sustainable circular economy with the motto "Cherishing Mother Nature" as the guiding principle for all production and business activities. Activities towards Net Zero have helped TH Group reduce up to 85% of total greenhouse gas emissions compared to before, saving more than 500 tons of plastic each year.

Since its first event in Copenhagen in 2018, the P4G Summit has demonstrated the far-reaching influence of a world-leading forum for promoting public-private cooperation, connecting governments, businesses, and social organizations to jointly develop breakthrough solutions for green growth, contributing to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The head of the Vietnamese government highly appreciated Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone for representing the high-ranking delegation of the Lao government and for attending and speaking at the High-Level Discussion Session at this P4G Summit. This effort demonstrates Laos' respect and interest in Vietnam's important multilateral event in 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also congratulated PM Abiy Ahmed Ali and expected Ethiopia to fulfill its role as host country for the 5th P4G Summit in 2027.

Previously, at the bilateral meeting, PM Chinh welcomed Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed Ali and the high-ranking delegation of the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on their official visit to Vietnam, the first official visit by a high-ranking Ethiopian leader to Vietnam since the two countries established relations nearly 50 years ago (1976 - 2026). PM Chinh believes that the visit will contribute to strengthening friendship, bringing the Vietnam - Ethiopia cooperation into a new stage of development, becoming increasingly substantive and effective, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

By hosting the P4G Summit, Vietnam also aims to concretize the guidelines and views of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam on foreign affairs, deepen relations with its partners, and enhance its role in multilateral mechanisms. This, in turn, will help Vietnam mobilize international resources for development, particularly in climate change mitigation, green transition, digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation.

The Summit is expected to adopt the Hanoi Declaration, with a strong commitment to green, sustainable, and people-centered development, expressing members' determination to work closely together to mitigate global challenges.

P4G Summit (Hanoi, April 15-17, 2025), themed "Sustainable and people-centered green transition,” is the largest multilateral high-level event on green growth hosted by Vietnam in the 2021-2026 period. Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN) will update regularly Vietnam's strong commitments, proactive role, and international responsibility at the P4G Summit.
