PM Pham Minh Chinh and Nvidia CEO drinking beer and strolling through the Old Quarter

(VAN) On the evening of December 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited Ta Hien Street to enjoy beer and fried fermented pork rolls.

On the evening of December 5, after attending the signing ceremony for the establishment of two AI centers in Vietnam, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, accompanied by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, visited Ngoc Son Temple. They then took an electric car to Ta Hien Street at 10 p.m. The Founder of Nvidia appeared in his signature casual style, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.

The two walked along Ta Hien Street, frequently waving in response to the warm greetings from the crowd.

This is not the first time Jensen Huang has been seen at local eateries in Hanoi. Last December, during his first visit to Vietnam, he embarked on a culinary "tour," enjoying dishes such as pho, snails, and beer.

The appearance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Nvidia founder Jensen Huang drew significant attention from both locals and tourists. Both leaders warmly shook hands, engaged in conversations, and posed for photos with the people.

Jensen Huang’s visit is a momentous event for both Vietnam and Nvidia. After a signing ceremony to establish an R&D center and an AI data center in Vietnam, Huang is scheduled to attend several science and technology events in the country.

During a speech earlier this year, Nvidia's CEO praised Vietnam for its "rich culture, beautiful people, and outstanding cuisine," expressing confidence that the country will also be recognized in the future for its "cutting-edge technology."

Although this is only his second visit to Vietnam, the Nvidia's CEO was easily recognized by many thanks to his silver hair, all-black attire, and signature leather jacket. He cheerfully signed autographs for fans.

During the signing ceremony for the AI center, Huang expressed his gratitude to Vietnam for the warm welcome and stated that the country is Nvidia’s second home. "Today marks our birth, so welcome to the party," he said.

Jensen Huang, born in 1963, currently has a net worth of over 126 billion USD, largely derived from his stake in Nvidia, the world’s leading AI chipmaker. He co-founded the company in 1993, initially focusing on products designed to support graphics processing and gaming. Over time, Nvidia's technology saw adoption in a wider range of applications, including artificial intelligence.

Following the explosion of generative AI in 2022, demand for Nvidia's chips has increased exponentially, propelling the company’s value to over 3.5 trillion USD. Consequently, Nvidia is currently competing with Apple for the title of the most valuable company in the world.
