Pepper prices on September 9 globally

Globally, pepper prices on September 9 remain stable.

The price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia stands at $ 7,578/ton. Muntok white pepper from Indonesia is holding at $ 8,923/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $ 8,800/ton, while ASTA white pepper from the country is at $ 10,900/ton.

In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 7,500/ton.

In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper 500 g/l are at $ 6,600/ton, and 550 g/l is at $ 7,000/ton. White pepper export prices are steady at $ 9,300/ton.

Global pepper prices today show no new changes. Over the past week, the global pepper market has had a positive trend in some countries.

Thus, on 09/09/2024, global pepper prices remained stable compared to yesterday.

Domestic pepper prices today remain steady, with the highest price at VND 153,000/kg. Over the past week, the price of this agricultural product has increased significantly by VND 3,000.

According to preliminary statistics from VPSA, by the end of August 2024, Vietnam has imported 21,348 tons of pepper, including 18,657 tons of black pepper and 2,691 tons of white pepper. The total import value reached $ 88.4 million, with a 12.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam's primary pepper imports are from Brazil with 8,058 tons (down 30.5%); Cambodia with 6,635 tons (up 96.1%); and Indonesia with 4,530 tons (up 94.6%).

The leading pepper import companies include Olam Vietnam with 7,496 tons (down 1.6%); Tran Chau with 2,756 tons (down 11.4%); and KSS Vietnam with 1,235 tons (up 10.1%).

Thus, on 09/09/2024, domestic pepper prices are trading around VND 152,000 - 153,000/kg.
