The global pepper market experienced slight increases today, particularly in Indonesia. The price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia rose by 0.8%, reaching $ 7,472/ton. Meanwhile, the price of Muntok white pepper in Indonesia also increased by 0.8%, standing at $ 8,798/ton.
The price of Kuching ASTA black pepper in Malaysia remains stable at $ 8,500/ton, while ASTA white pepper in Malaysia continues to be priced at $ 10,400/ton. In Brazil, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remains unchanged at $ 6,175/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price for 500 g/l black pepper is stable at $ 5,800/ton, while the 550 g/l black pepper is trading at $ 6,200/ton. The export price of white pepper in Vietnam is holding at $ 8,500/ton.
The global pepper market on 08/20/2024, saw slight increases in Indonesia while remaining stable in other countries.
Reflecting on the previous week, the IPC noted that the global pepper market exhibited mixed movements. Domestic and export prices for pepper in India and Sri Lanka stabilized after two weeks of growth.
In Southeast Asia, only Indonesian black pepper prices continued to rise since last week, while white pepper prices declined as most farmers in the country are in the harvest season.
Domestic pepper prices in Malaysia showed a decrease last week, while export prices remained stable.
Brazilian black pepper prices continued to decline for three consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper prices remained stable without any change.
The IPC also reported that Brazil's pepper exports in the first seven months of 2024 dropped by 8%, amounting to around 42,000 tons, with a value equivalent to 165 million USD.
Thus, global pepper prices on 08/20/2024, saw slight increases in Indonesia compared to the previous day.
In the domestic market, pepper prices increased significantly compared to the previous day.
Specifically, Dak Lak saw an increase of VND 1,000, bringing the purchase price to VND 141,000/kg.
The price of pepper in Dak Nong also rose to VND 141,000/kg, after an increase of VND 1,000.
Similarly, Gia Lai pepper prices today traded up to VND 139,000/kg.
In Dong Nai, traders purchased pepper at 139,000 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND.
Pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau increased by VND 2,000, reaching VND 140,000/kg today.
Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc traded pepper at VND 139,000/kg, up VND 1,000.
Domestic pepper prices today saw a sharp increase of VND 1,000 - 2,000, pushing the commodity up to VND 141,000/kg.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on 08/20/2024, are trading around VND 139,000 - 141,000/kg.
