Pepper prices on April 6 in the world

Around the world, the pepper market on April 6 increased slightly in Indonesia but remained flat in other countries. Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia increased by 0.31%; increased to $ 4,463/ton. The price of Muntok white pepper in this country also increased slightly by 0.31%; at $ 6,179/ton.

Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper price remained stable at $ 4,900/ton; This country's ASTA white pepper is still priced at $ 7,300/ton.

For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remains at $ 4,500/ton.

In Vietnam, export prices of black pepper grades 500 and 550 g/l remained at $ 4,200 and $ 4,300/ton, respectively. The export price of white pepper is anchored at $ 6,000/ton.

World pepper prices today increased slightly in Indonesia but remained stable in other markets. IPC commented that this week's pepper market continues to have mixed reactions. 

In particular, domestic and international Indian pepper prices have continued with an increasing trend since last week. Similarly, Indonesian black pepper prices also reported an increasing trend over the past 4 weeks.

Thus, world pepper prices on 04/06/2024 increased in Indonesia compared to yesterday.

Pepper prices on April 6 in the country

Domestically, the pepper market on April 6 went sideways compared to yesterday.

Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong today are still trading at VND 94,000/kg;

Pepper price today in Gia Lai is flat, remaining at VND 92,500/kg;

In Dong Nai, traders continue to buy at a price of VND 92,500/kg;

The latest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is anchored at VND 93,000/kg;

Binh Phuoc traders are still trading pepper at the price of VND 93,500/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today have no new fluctuations, continuing to struggle around the threshold of VND 94,000/kg.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in February 2024, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 13.45 thousand tons, worth approximately $ 54.47 million; down 23% in volume and 22% in value compared to January 2024. Compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 52% in volume and 35.3% in value.

In the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 30.91 thousand tons; worth $ 124.32 million; down 23.5% in volume and 2.1% in value compared to the same period in 2023. 

Also in February 2024, our country's average export price of pepper reached $ 4,050/ton; an increase of 1.2% compared to January 2024 and a sharp increase of 34.7% compared to February 2023. In the first 2 months of this year, the average export price of Vietnam's pepper was $ 4,022/ton; an increase of 28.1% over the same period in 2023.

And many of the country's traditional pepper export markets also decreased compared to February 2023, such as: India, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Pakistan, UK... On the contrary, exports to countries such as the US, Germany, Netherlands, Korea, and Egypt increased.

In the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam will promote pepper exports to the US, India, Germany, the Netherlands, Korea, and Egypt, but reduce exports to the United Arab Emirates and the UK. 

Thus, the domestic pepper price on 04/06/2024 is trading around VND 92,500 - 94,000/kg.
