In the world market

In the world market, pepper prices today, July 22, at Kochi exchange, India, increase INR 33.35 per quintal, at INR 42,000 per quintal.

The cross rate of Vietnam Dong to Indian Rupee (INR) from July 15 to July 22, 2021, applied by the State Bank for export and import tax calculation, is VND 311.13 /INR.

India has reopened its market since June 2021, leading to an increase in pepper consumption demand.

The pepper quantity in the Indian market is already in excess due to the prolonged social distancing order. However, pepper prices are threatened due to a 25% increase in Sri Lanka's pepper production volume in 2021, causing the increase in Sri Lanka's pepper volume entering India.
