Update on the latest pepper price on 08/11/2023
World pepper price on August 11 has no new changes in all countries.
Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia increased by 9.01%; to $4,134/ton. And the price of Muntok white pepper in this country increased by 6.4%; at $6,818/ton.
Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper price remained stable at $4,900/ton; while ASTA white pepper of this country is still priced at $7,300/ton.
For the Brazilian market, the price of black pepper ASTA 570 is kept at $2,900/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price of 500 and 550 g/l black pepper is at $3,500 and $3,600/ton, respectively. The export price of white pepper remained at $5,100/ton.
Today's world pepper prices are flat in all markets.
As noted, the global pepper market showed signs of slowing down in the second quarter. Generally in the first 6 months, except for Vietnam with an increase in export volume, the remaining markets such as Brazil, Indonesia and India declined.
Regarding consumption demand, China and African countries were the most active importers in the first half of this year, while US and EU imports fell due to the effects of inflation, rising interest rates made consumers cut back on spending.
According to data from the Brazilian State Center for Foreign Trade Statistics (Comex Stat), Brazil's pepper exports in June only reached 4,965 tons, the lowest level in a recent year and down 12.6% month-on-month.
Thus, today's pepper price on 08/11/2023 in the world is flat compared to yesterday.
Domestic pepper price on August 11 is still stable compared to yesterday.
Specifically, the prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong today are kept at VND 72,000/kg;
In Gia Lai, today's trading price continues to be around VND 71,000/kg;
Dong Nai is still purchasing at VND 71,000/kg today;
The latest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is anchored at VND 74,000/kg;
And Binh Phuoc today traded at VND 73,000/kg, an unchanged price from yesterday.
Domestic pepper prices today continued to move sideways, with the highest purchasing level being VND 74,000/kg.
According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association, Vietnam exported 15,152 tons of pepper of all kinds in July 2023. In which, black pepper reached 12,841 tons, while white pepper reached 2,311 tons.
The total export turnover of pepper reached $58.6 million, black pepper reached $45.0 million, white pepper reached $11.8 million, compared to the previous month, the export volume decreased by 28.6%, and the turnover decreased by 26.3%.
The average export price of black pepper in July reached 3,683 USD/ton, with white pepper reaching $5,207/ton, down 0.3% for black pepper and 1.1% for white pepper compared to the same month. 6/2023.
