VPSA estimates that Vietnam provides about 50% of global pepper output, but due to a sharp decline in area, the country's pepper output in 2024 is likely to be at its lowest level in many years.

This association forecasts that Vietnam's pepper output this year will decrease by 10% to 170,000 tons compared to last year, the lowest level in the last 5 years. Of which, Dak Nong accounts for 41.2%; Dak Lak accounts for 28.2%; Gia Lai accounts for 7.6%; Ba Ria Vung Tau 7.1%... Currently, the country has 100,000 pepper farmers, 200 export enterprises and 35 pepper factories.

According to Dak Nong Provincial Department of Agricultural Development, the whole province has 34,000 ha of pepper, with an output of nearly 70,000 tons. In recent years, pepper farming has had many positive changes, gradually shifting towards organic and ecologically diverse gardens.
