Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia 2024

Overview of Asia's largest agricultural mechanization exhibition

(VAN) Leading agricultural technology businesses introduced products at Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia 2024 that can increase crop productivity and optimize resource and water management.

Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia 2024 international trade fair takes place from May 22 - 24 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC). The event welcomes 1,500 visitors and 300 businesses operating in the field of agricultural mechanization from 28 countries.

Currently, the Agritechnica Asia exhibition is held every two years in Thailand. It is Asia's leading trade fair for crop production and smart farming. Starting in 2025, the exhibition will be held annually, alternating between Thailand and Vietnam. In 2025, the event is expected to take place from March 12 - 14 in Ho Chi Minh City. This new schedule aims to provide more frequent opportunities for industry stakeholders to engage, share innovations, and explore business opportunities in Southeast Asia's rapidly evolving agricultural sector.

To address the urgent issues of climate change, food scarcity, and environmental pollution, Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia showcased technological solutions designed to improve farming efficiency and integrate digital transformation in agriculture.

Visitors to the fair had the opportunity to experience today's most advanced technologies firsthand. Guests from 62 countries traveled to Thailand to gain knowledge and explore the green transformation landscape of global agriculture.

New Holland, a subsidiary of the German agricultural machinery and equipment company CNH Industrial, presented the multi-purpose TT3.50 tractor. This tractor is integrated with a platform that manages farm data in real-time using FieldOps technology. The TT3.50 is ideal for various farming conditions and serves multiple crops such as sugarcane, cassava, and corn.

Besides the machine, New Holland presents an expanded portfolio of auto steer solutions at Agritechnica Asia 2024. This includes DirecSteer - a simple, silent, and powerful autosteer solution, along with a 7-inch CR7 display.

The Massey Ferguson 5S series, known for its lifting and handling capabilities, can manage objects weighing up to 6,000kg. Its lift bar can be easily adjusted, allowing users to install equipment heads to suit their specific needs.

KUHN, a French enterprise with over 200 years of experience in agricultural mechanization, showcased the PROFILE 6.1 DS device, which optimizes animal feed production by providing mixed diets for all types of farms. The machine's three outstanding features are its ease of use, compact size, and integrated standard electronic weighing system.

In addition, KUHN's self-propelled tractor includes a version with a 2.5-meter-wide harrow blade. The machine operates electromechanically and boasts a lifting capacity of 5 tons for the rear and 3.5 tons for the front connecting bars.

The Claas Quadrant 4200 Evolution large square baler delivers outstanding productivity for collecting straw in extensive fields. The straw treatment system's streams have a large capacity and are optimized for compacting straw rolls. This innovation is part of Claas's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in rice production, highlighted by their "Stop Burning" campaign.

A product of John Deere, the 5050E tractor stands out with its power, high maneuverability, and capability to operate in various environments. It also integrates unprecedented features such as electric quick raise and lower (EQRL), facilitating easy control of farming tools.

In addition to the European giants, Chinese manufacturers also introduced numerous innovations tailored to the needs of Asian farmers. Notably, the high-performance XAG P100 Pro agricultural drone is designed to enhance rice cultivation, covering tasks from sowing to spraying and fertilizing. Equipped with radar that adapts to the terrain, the XAG P100 Pro maintains a stable distance relative to crop height, improving operational accuracy.

The AGMA-TOYAR conveyor system automates the classification of fruits and vegetables, integrating processes from cleaning to sorting based on quality. The system can identify product codes and check the internal and external quality of fruits using independent automatic classification software and an intelligent navigation system.

With its ability to classify quickly and accurately, the system helps reduce post-harvest losses, minimize labor, and increase the added value of agricultural products.

Potential customers had the opportunity to gain deeper insights into these technologies through conversations with brand representatives, leading to numerous transactions being conducted right at the fair. Accordingly, Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia has become a crucial business connection platform for high-tech manufacturers looking to enter the Southeast Asian market.

The media cooperation between Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper and the Agritechnica Asia & Horti Asia 2024 Event Organizing Committee underscores the Newspaper's commitment and role in connecting Vietnam with global trends and advanced technology. As the sole media partner in Vietnam, Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper will provide detailed information about the event's activities and seminar content from May 22-24.
