The area boasts incredibly diverse terrain, ranging from majestic mountain ranges with peaks over 2,000 meters high to low hills, valleys, interspersed with a system of rivers, streams, waterfalls, and stunning natural lakes such as Mo Stream, Binh Trung Stream, and Da Ban Lake. The characteristic tropical monsoon climate with a long dry season provides mild weather and fresh air, ideal for year-round tourism activities.
Ninh Hoa-Van Ninh Protection Forest prides itself on being one of the regions with the highest biodiversity, featuring over 200 species of higher plants (including many rare species like agarwood, red ironwood, and pomu) and over 170 species of forest animals, many of which are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and international conservation catalogs. This creates unique value for nature exploration and environmental education experiences. Distinctive scenic spots like Hoc Chim and Da Chai promise to develop diverse types of tourism such as mountain climbing, trekking, stream bathing, boating, camping, and local cultural experiences.
Beyond its scenic and biological value, the forest also plays a particularly crucial role in water source protection, headwater conservation, and maintaining ecological balance for Northern Khanh Hoa and the South Central Coast. Its convenient location with good transport infrastructure, providing easy connectivity to Nha Trang, Cam Ranh Airport, and Van Phong Economic Zone, is also a key factor attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists.
The Management Board of Ninh Hoa-Van Ninh Protection Forest has detailed plans for 10 tourist spots and 2 tourist routes available for lease within the forest environment, covering a total area of thousands of hectares. This promises vast space for creative and sustainable business ideas.
These eco-tourism sites include Hoc Chim 1 and Hoc Chim 2 in Van Ninh commune; Da Chai 1, Da Chai 2, Da Chai 3, and Da Chai 4 in Bac Ninh Hoa commune; and Binh Trung Stream 1 and Binh Trung Stream 2 in Van Thang commune; Mo Stream 1 and Mo Stream 2 in Tay Ninh Hoa commune.
These areas have been carefully selected, ensuring their potential for developing diverse types of tourism, from peaceful retreats to adventurous exploration activities, enriching Khanh Hoa's tourism map.
To ensure transparency and fairness, the Management Board of Ninh Hoa-Van Ninh Protection Forest will select organizations and individuals based on the technical evaluation dossier approved in Decision No. 113/QD-BQL dated June 30, 2025. This dossier will specify detailed evaluation criteria, including but not limited to financial capacity, experience in eco-tourism and forest management, sustainable tourismdevelopment plans linked to environmental protection, as well as proposals for contributions to the local community.
According to the Management Board, the leasing of forest environments is carried out based on a clear legal framework, including the Forestry Law dated November 15, 2017, the Land Law 2024, and guiding decrees such as Decree No. 156/2018/ND-CP, Decree No. 91/2024/ND-CP, and Decree No. 175/2024/ND-CP. Particularly, the Eco-tourism, Resort, and Recreation Project in the Bac Khanh Hoa Protection Forest area for the 2025-2029 period, approved by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1946/QD-UBND dated June 30, 2025, serves as an important guideline for this activity.
