Netafim Group, a member of Orbia, is the world’s largest irrigation corporation and a pioneer in precision agriculture solutions, addressing global challenges of food, water, and land scarcity toward a sustainable future.
Founded in 1965, Netafim initiated the “drip irrigation revolution,” marking a breakthrough in the transition toward precision irrigation. The company also leads in digital agriculture, irrigation, and fertigation technologies by integrating real-time monitoring, data analytics, and automated control through modern operating platforms.
During the working session, participants raised a number of questions for Netafim, seeking clarifications and detailed proposals on precision agriculture solutions, particularly advanced irrigation systems. Delegates expressed keen interest in understanding the specific areas of support Netafim would provide and the company’s implementation plan for assisting Dak Lak province.

Mr. Gal Yarden, Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific Region of Netafim Group, stated that to develop effective, tailored solutions, Netafim first needs to conduct detailed surveys and assessments. However, he emphasized that human resources, through expert support and knowledge transfer, are the most critical areas where Netafim can assist farmers. In addition, during implementation, the company could help provide necessary equipment and machinery.
Dak Lak is a province that frequently faces water shortages for agricultural production during the dry season. This situation has been worsening over the years, affecting thousands of hectares of crops and reducing both productivity and quality.
Speaking at the meeting with Netafim Group, Ms. Dang Thi Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak Province, noted that to effectively implement precision agriculture solutions, especially advanced irrigation systems, it is essential to establish clear mechanisms and policies to support farmers.

According to Ms. Thuy, the leadership of Dak Lak province and the Department of Agriculture and Environment hope that when implementing programs and projects in the province, Netafim will prioritize areas facing difficult cultivation conditions - remote, mountainous, and ethnic minority communities - to best support farmers, raise incomes, and improve livelihoods.
Specialized units under the Dak Lak Department of Agriculture and Environment, such as the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the Sub-Department of Irrigation and Disaster Prevention, and the Agricultural Extension Center, will serve as focal points to coordinate with Netafim in conducting field surveys and assessments to provide the most effective support for local farmers in the coming period.
