Higher than profits, it is a noble quest

During the first working week of the new year 2022, on February 11, Minister Le Minh Hoan and the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Thua Thien - Hue, and Dong Thap visited and had a working session with Que Lam Group in Thua Thien - Hue.

This is the second official visit and working session of Minister Le Minh Hoan with Que Lam Group in the context that mindset towards agricultural economics and organic, circular, green and sustainable agriculture are having positive changes.

The “4F Bio-safe Breeding Complex” is evidence of a unique and advanced circular economy in agriculture constructed for the first time in Vietnam with great speed, even in the context of the stressful Covid-19 pandemic.

Que Lam has also linked with cooperatives and hundreds of farmer households to produce organic agro-products and apply bio-safe breeding with approximately 500 ha of rice and crops of all kinds, 250 sows and 5,000 meat pigs in Huong Tra, Huong Thuy, Phong Dien, Phu Loc, A Luoi, and Quang Dien.

Most importantly, thanks to the involvement of the whole political system, each linkage circular agro-economics model of Que Lam is becoming closer to completion and expanding at a very strong rate.

Perhaps that is why after inspecting the 4F Complex and its associated models in Thua Thien - Hue, Minister Le Minh Hoan expressed his appreciation towards Que Lam’s contributions, not only through their acting role of leading farmers in organic and circular agriculture but also through the values they created which benefit the community and society.

These stories from Thua Thien - Hue, Vinh Phuc, Dong Thap and many localities that cooperate with Que Lam show that the Group’s journey of good and responsible agriculture, particularly the journey of the soil having its nutritions once again restored, is an inspiring tale for us all.

According to Minister Le Minh Hoan, the Prime Minister has just approved the “The 2030 Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development - Vision to 2050”. This is the first time Vietnam's agricultural sector has a long-term strategy towards ecological, transparent and responsible agriculture as committed to international community. In order to achieve this feat, it is essential to change the mindset more enthusiastically and expand organic agriculture at a faster rate.

Ecology of responsible agriculture

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Que Lam Group, after decades of steadfastly building linkage models, Que Lam has successfully signed cooperation agreements with many provinces and cities: Son La, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien - Hue, Ho Chi Minh, Long An, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, and many more.

Que Lam has also signed cooperation agreements with agencies and departments to supervise and implement "the production and business value chain procedures for organic - clean - sustainable agriculture", combining with microbiological technology transfer to help households and cooperatives produce microbial organic fertilizers right in their garden.

In the path of spreading organic and circular agriculture to change people’s mindset in agriculture, Among the lessons of cooperation and association Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam learned, faith and aspiration are deemed most important.

“In terms of mechanisms and policies, as well as orientation for development, the Party has clearly determined that Vietnam's agriculture must be economic, ecological, and circular.

“The point is to have faith and aspiration to make it real: aspirations and determinations of the political system and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; faith of those in the apparatus of state management agencies and leaders of localities; aspiration of scientists and businesses; faith and aspirations of farmers themselves,” said Que Lam Group Chairman.

Tirelessly seeking cooperation to expand and construct a circular agricultural ecosystem for many years, Mr. Lam shared that only localities where the top leaders have true aspirations will Que Lam work with. Because if the leader does not change his perception and mindset, he cannot expect the locality and people there to change.
