Mr. Hoang Van Hong (standing), Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center, concluded the press conference.
On the afternoon of February 12, in Ho Chi Minh City, the German Agricultural Society (DLG), the National Agricultural Extension Center (MARD), and Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper co-hosted a press conference to announce the AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025 exhibition, themed "Promoting Green Initiatives in Southeast Asia".
In his closing remarks at the press conference, Mr. Hoang Van Hong, Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center, emphasized that no modern and developed agriculture exists without mechanization and the application of new technologies in production.
Regarding the perspective that agriculture has reached a ceiling in productivity and now needs to maximize its value advantage, he stated that this requires rational production organization, where mechanization serves as a lever to reduce labor effort, enhance productivity, and lower input costs, including seeds and fertilizers. He noted that with Vietnam’s agricultural transition from small-scale to large-scale, modernized production, production organization is the key to effectively applying mechanization under current conditions.
The leadership of the National Agricultural Extension Center also announced that the exhibition will be alternately held in Thailand (2026) and Vietnam (from 2027 onward) to ensure increasing scale and effectiveness, better meeting the needs of Vietnam’s agricultural sector.
This event serves as an essential platform for introducing and applying advanced technologies, new machinery, and equipment for agricultural production. Cooperatives and farmers can access and select suitable solutions to improve production efficiency.
Mr. Hoang Van Hong also highlighted the crucial role of grassroots agricultural extension services in connecting cooperatives with businesses, enabling enterprises to provide large-scale services, thereby reducing costs for individual farmers.
The application of technology and mechanization is considered a core and timely issue in modern agricultural development. Technologies such as planting technology and plant protection solutions can help reduce input costs, increase labor productivity, and enhance production value.
Moreover, the exhibition is seen as a hub for networking and collaboration between domestic and international businesses, cooperatives, and farmers. Through the event, participants can sign contracts, access services, and acquire technology and equipment for agricultural production.
“The organizing committee is committed to working closely with Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper to promote the exhibition, connect with cooperatives, extension officers, and farmers, and coordinate with relevant agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to ensure the event’s success,” affirmed Mr. Hoàng Văn Hồng.
At the press conference, in response to questions about the products to be showcased at AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025, Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh, Director of Minh Vi Advertising & Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., and a representative of the organizing committee, explained that the exhibition follows a supply-demand principle, meaning the products presented will align with market needs.

He noted that exhibitors from nearly 30 countries had thoroughly researched the Vietnamese market before deciding to participate, ensuring they bring the most relevant products to maximize benefits for attendees.
While recognizing the importance of post-harvest preservation technology for fruits, Mr. Vinh pointed out that bringing entire production lines to the exhibition is impractical. Instead, interested customers can directly discuss with manufacturers to explore suitable solutions.
In addition to product displays, the exhibition will host panel discussions where businesses can share insights on post-harvest processing and preservation.
There will also be hundreds of practical presentations for attendees, covering topics such as water reuse and water quality assessment to adapt to climate change.
Adding to Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh’s remarks, Mr. Peter Grothues emphasized that for key commodities like durian, pepper, and rice, DLG will bring in international scientists. Farmers, businesses, and cooperatives can present their questions and challenges, which will be addressed by industry experts to develop appropriate solutions.
