Live pork prices

Live pork prices today, August 22, in the Northern market, move sideways in some provinces compared to yesterday but increase slightly compared to last weekend.

Specifically, the highest live pork price is VND 57,000 per kilogram in Bac Giang province, as the same in Hung Yen province.

The live pork price is VND 55,000-56,000 per kilogram in Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai provinces.

The lowest live pork price is VND 54,000 per kilogram in Nam Dinh province, the same in Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh and Vinh Phuc provinces.

In North Central Coast and Central Highlands, live pork prices today keep stable compared to yesterday but went down by VND 3,000 compared to last weekend.

The live pork price is the highest as VND 55,000 per kilogram in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan provinces.

The lowest live pork price is VND 50,000 per kilogram in Binh Dinh province.

In Khanh Hoa province, the live pork price is VND 53,000, the same in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Lam Dong, Dak Lak and Binh Thuan provinces.

The live pork price keeps at VND 54,000 per kilogram in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces.

In the South, live pork prices today also move sideways in many provinces. This week, the highest increase is VND 4,000 per kilogram compared to last weekend.

The live pork price in An Giang province is VND 53,000 per kilogram, after VND 1,000 increase.

In Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces, the live pork price is VND 52,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 3,000.

The live pork price in Dong Thap province keeps the highest of VND 56,000 per kilogram, after the increase of VND 4,000 per kilogram compared to last weekend.

White shrimp prices

In Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh and Ca Mau provinces, white shrimp prices today, August 22, increase in most types compared to yesterday.

Specifically, 20 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 200,000-220,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 3,000.

25 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 157,000-162,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 2,000.

30 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 132,000-134,000 per kilogram.

40 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 113,000-115,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 1,000.

50 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 97,000-98,000 per kilogram.

60 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 89,500-90,500 per kilogram, increasing by VND 2,000.

70 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 82,500-83,500 per kilogram.

Currently, the world's two leading shrimp exporting countries, India and Thailand, are being adversely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. The loss of control over the disease spread has caused these two countries' supply and ability to export shrimp, so Vietnam's shrimp exports will have a more competitive advantage. If the Covid-19 epidemic is well controlled, Vietnam's shrimp export opportunities will increase sharply in the future.

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho and Hau Giang provinces, pangasius prices today, August 22, are VND 21,000-22,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for 30-35 head-sized pangasius breeds are VND 25,000-30,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 7,000-10,000 compared to last month.

However, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the pangasius breed prices must be VND 40,000-50,000 per kilogram, so pangasius breed producers are profitable.

According to VASEP, the pangasius import demand from the US, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, Canada, Colombia, Russia, and UAE has increased positively. However, the Covid-19 epidemic has spread from Ho Chi Minh City to the western provinces in the past time, causing export processing enterprises to be seriously affected.

Therefore, the export market will only recover when pangasius processing enterprises restore production and increase capacity as normal. At that time, the raw pangasius prices may increase.

Snakehead prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, and Tra Vinh provinces, snakehead prices today, August 22, are VND 43,000-48,000 per kilogram, are unchanged compared to yesterday, but increase by VND 10,000-15,000 compared to the same period of last year.

Prices for 500-700 head-sized snakehead breeds are VND 200-300 per head, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Red tilapia prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long and Hau Giang provinces, red tilapia prices today, August 22, are VND 34,000-35,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for 30-40 head-sized red tilapia breeds are VND 22,000-25,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Bronze featherback prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long and Hau Giang provinces, bronze featherback prices today, August 22, are VND 45,000-46,000 per kilogram.

Prices for 200 head-sized bronze featherback breeds are VND 1,600 per head, unchanged compared to yesterday.
