On the evening of September 21st, the opening ceremony of the Green growth products and services exhibition 2024 (GRECO 2024) took place at the Nguyen Hue and Le Loi pedestrian streets as part of the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (HEF), under the theme "Industrial Transformation: A New Driver for Sustainable Development in Ho Chi Minh City".

The event, directed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, was organized by the city's Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC) in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Science and Technology, and other relevant departments and agencies. It brought together over 200 businesses with around 300 booths displaying nearly 8,000 featured products, running from September 21st to September 25th.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Vo Van Hoan, said that GRECO 2024 aims to support and create opportunities for the city's business community, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to exchange and connect with leading international companies in order to build a green production ecosystem and apply the circular economic model.

Through this, the goal is to effectively utilize and conserve natural resources and energy based on scientific and technological advancements, applying digital technology and digital transformation. This will contribute to enhancing competitiveness, minimizing environmental impact and moving toward building Ho Chi Minh City into a green, smart city while fostering a culture of sustainable consumption across all social strata.

"This is an inevitable trend for Vietnam, and it is also the common trend that all countries around the world aspire to achieve", Mr. Hoan said.

A highlight of GRECO 2024 is the "Specialized technology and equipment marketplace (Techmart)" area, showcasing renewable energy processes and equipment, as well as environmental treatment solutions, catering to the needs of modern industrial transformation.

Additionally, there is a special space dedicated to companies recognized as "Green enterprises and innovative enterprises", which apply the ESG model in their production and business operations.

The booths were attractively designed, conveying the unique green transformation message and story of each participating entity.

In addition to the display and exhibition activities, GRECO 2024 also organized demonstrations and presentations of green, sustainable technology models and newly researched and developed products.

Visitors had the special opportunity to experience and taste traditional Vietnamese cuisine alongside international dishes from Thailand, China, South Korea, and more in the food section. The culinary offerings featured ingredients sourced from Vietnam, such as nutritious dishes made from vegetables and seafood, traditional cakes and regional specialties, all crafted by the skilled hands of both international and local renowned artisans and chefs.
