At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich shared information about Vietnam’s policy to merge its 64 provinces and cities into 34. In that process, the merger of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai into the new Gia Lai Province is not merely an administrative adjustment but also an opportunity to open up new development space.

She also introduced the image, potential, and strengths of the new Gia Lai Province, emphasizing that Phu Cat Airport is being upgraded into an international airport to welcome visitors from around the world. Ms. Lich presented a list of investment invitation projects, including high-tech agricultural projects, and discussed future cooperation directions with the Japan–Vietnam Friendship Association. The aim, she noted, is to strengthen friendship and promote practical and effective cooperation between Gia Lai Province and Kansai City in particular, as well as with Japanese partners in general.

On this occasion, Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich conveyed the greetings and invitation of Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, and Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, respectfully inviting Mr. Kato Hirosuke to visit and work with the province in the near future. She also expressed the hope that Mr. Kato would continue to support promoting the image, potential, and strengths of Gia Lai Province, and serve as a bridge to introduce investors to explore opportunities and do business in the province.

Mr. Kato Hirosuke affirmed that in recent years, he and the Japan–Vietnam Friendship Association have made efforts to promote and introduce the image of Vietnam’s land, people, and development potential in general, as well as that of the former Binh Dinh Province in particular, in Japan, while also encouraging Japanese businesses to explore investment opportunities.

Mr. Kato Hirosuke shared that many documents about Binh Dinh have been translated into Japanese for Japanese businesses to study and reference. Several companies and universities in Japan have already invested in the former Binh Dinh Province, engaging in business development, education and training partnerships, and labor export, which have begun to yield positive results.

He noted that the new Gia Lai Province's potential and strengths will open up many new investment and business opportunities for foreign enterprises. Mr. Kato pledged to accompany agricultural production enterprises, wood processing and export companies, and several Japanese universities to visit and work with Gia Lai in the near future to explore investment opportunities. He also expressed his hope that Gia Lai’s leadership will continue to provide favorable conditions for businesses seeking to invest in the province.
