De Heus Group expands strategic presence in Asia

(VAN) De Heus strengthens its position in Asia with the acquisition of CJ Feed & Care, expanding into the South Korean and Philippines' market while reaffirming the commitment to independent livestock farming.

On the morning of October 1 in Hanoi, Royal De Heus Group signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of CJ Feed & Care. Under the deal, De Heus will take over all of CJ Feed & Care’s business operations in Viet Nam, Indonesia, South Korea, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

This transaction marks a significant step forward in De Heus’s long-term growth strategy, clearly reflecting the Group’s unwavering ambition to deliver safe, healthy, and affordable food by supporting independent livestock and aquaculture farmers in key growth markets. The deal includes 17 animal feed production plants.

The signing ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Central Strategic Policy Committee; Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Viet Nam; Mr. Co de Heus, Chairman of Royal De Heus Group; Mr. Gabor Fluit, CEO of Royal De Heus Group; Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Viet Nam and Asia; Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of Hung Nhon Group; leaders from departments and divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; and senior management from De Heus Viet Nam and Asia.

Driving growth in existing markets and exploring new ones

Since entering the Vietnamese market in 2009, De Heus has continuously built and expanded a strong presence across the Asian region.

The acquisition of CJ Feed & Care strengthens De Heus’s position in Viet Nam, Indonesia, and Cambodia, while also opening direct access to two strategic markets - South Korea and the Philippines, with strong growth potential in animal protein production.

Enhancing the animal protein value chain

Aligned with its strategy focused on animal nutrition, De Heus continues to reaffirm its commitment to supporting independent farmers. This deal expands farmers’ access to high-quality nutrition solutions, superior livestock genetics, and advanced technical support, while actively contributing to the development of a competitive and sustainable livestock industry.

Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Viet Nam and Asia, shared: "This transaction marks an important milestone for De Heus in particular and for Viet Nam’s livestock industry in general. The transfer agreement is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026, following approval from the relevant state authorities.
