By investing in packaging and presentation, an increasing number of businesses in Da Nang are transforming local agricultural products into premium gifts, enhancing their competitiveness and appealing to a broader range of consumers.
Recognizing changing market trends, many producers across the city have begun allocating substantial resources to developing attractive packaging and curated gift sets, rather than focusing solely on traditional retail products.

At Nam O Fish Sauce Village in Hai Van Ward, Huong Lang Co is among the pioneers in adopting a new approach to the market. According to Mr. Bui Thanh Phu, owner of the business, continuous innovation is essential for long-term growth not only in product quality but also in the way the cultural story behind the product is communicated.
"Today's customers do not buy fish sauce simply for cooking. They also want to take home a piece of Nam O's and Da Nang's heritage. That is why we have invested in premium gift packaging featuring images of the ancient village, the history of Nam O fish sauce, and the traditional production process. When cultural values are presented through thoughtful design, the value of the product itself is enhanced," Mr. Phu said.
This strategy has delivered tangible results. Gift products now account for approximately 30% of the business's total revenue, and sales in this segment continue to grow year after year.

The philosophy of combining excellent product quality with attractive presentation has also become the development strategy of Hoi An Me Mit Foods Co., Ltd. in Hoi An Tay Ward. After 10 years of operation, the company has continuously invested in giving its clean agricultural products a more professional and market-ready appearance.
Today, the company produces a wide range of value-added products, including cereal blends, seaweed and nut snacks, brown rice bars, bird's nest products, and more. Among them, its lotus seed and black sesame cereal and Tho Moc herbal tea have been recognized as 4-star OCOP products.
According to Ms. Thai Thi Nhi, Director of the company, today's consumers care not only about product quality but also expect convenience, safety, and attractive packaging.
The company has transformed its traditional loose-leaf tea into tea bags and redesigned its large rice cakes into individually wrapped snack bars that are easy to carry. By investing in packaging and product design while maintaining its three core values, which are clear traceability, natural ingredients, and no refined sugar or artificial coloring the company has received overwhelmingly positive customer feedback.
Many customers now place recurring orders for gift sets, recognizing both the quality and presentation of these locally made products.
Enhancing the value of agricultural products not only increases their market value but also creates new opportunities to promote the local image through tourism.
Glamour Adventure International Travel Company, based in the Hoi An area and specializing in visitors from Europe, North America, and Australia, has incorporated a variety of value-added agricultural products into gift sets for business partners and international tourists.
Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Huong, Director of the company, said:
"I choose Me Mit's products as gifts for our partners in Thailand and Spain, as well as for our international visitors, because they embody the essence of Vietnam while being presented in a highly professional way. When local products combine outstanding quality with beautiful packaging, the tourism industry becomes an effective bridge for bringing Vietnamese agricultural products to international markets."

At the Vigift Da Nang Specialty Gift Store in An Hai Ward, corporate clients and international visitors now account for a significant share of total sales.
According to Ms. Phan Thanh Ha, Director of Vigift, a successful gift set is more than just a collection of products, it should offer a harmonious blend of flavors, storytelling, and cultural identity. To achieve this, the company regularly studies the preferences of different customer groups and target markets to curate the most suitable product selections.
"If local agricultural products are to establish a strong position in the gift market, they must meet three essential criteria: delicious taste, high quality, and attractive presentation. When producers understand consumer preferences, every OCOP product or processed agricultural item can become an ambassador showcasing the unique identity of its locality," Ms. Ha said.
The growing trend of turning agricultural products into premium gifts is creating new opportunities for Da Nang's agricultural economy. By investing comprehensively in both product quality and packaging, local producers can enhance the added value and competitiveness of their products while promoting Da Nang's image to domestic and international visitors alike.
