Cultural Festival of ethnic minorities with a population of less than 10,000 people

(VAN) On November 3, the first Cultural Festival of ethnic minorities with a population of less than 10,000 people and Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2023 officially opened.

On the part of the Central delegates were Mr. Le Hoai Trung, the Secretary of the Party Central Committee and also the Head of the Central Committee for Foreign Affairs; Ms. Tong Thi Phong, former Politburo member, former Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly.

On the side of Lai Chau province were Ms. Giang Pao My, Member of the Party Central Committee, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vu Manh Ha, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Van Luong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee;

Opening the festival, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the traditional culture of very few ethnic minorities is a valuable heritage, not just the property of land, people, or locality, but also a priceless national asset, contributing to the richness, diversity, and unity of Vietnamese culture.

Preserving the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities is a political and socio-economic task of particular importance in building and developing the country.

Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Van Luong said that Lai Chau province is honored and proud to be chosen to host the festival. This is a valuable opportunity to witness the delegations attending the festival demonstrating the most unique and special cultural features and identities; exchange experiences, interact, and learn, to strengthen the great unity of the entire nation;

Honor and promote the core values ​​of the fine traditional culture of 14 ethnic minorities with a population of less than 10,000 people from 11 provinces throughout the country; Raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and ethnic people in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Lai Chau is a mountainous province, the northwest border of the Fatherland, a land rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, typically the National Treasure of King Le Thai To's Stele, Ban Luot - Place of Relics, and is also the place that established the first Party Cell of the Provincial Party Committee;

Lai Chau is one of the attractive destinations for tourists to experience and explore, with many beautiful and majestic landscapes and landscapes such as: Pusamcap Cave, Rong May Glass Bridge eco-tourism area, Tac Tinh Waterfall, Sin Ho plateau, especially the province has 6/10 highest mountain peaks in Vietnam, which are: Pu Si Lung, Pu Ta Leng, Bach Moc Luong Tu, Phan Lien San, Ta Lien Son and Po Ma Lung, with an altitude of around 3,000m.
