C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company has partnered with the Vietnam Food Bank network and the Global Food Bank network to launch the campaign "Stop Food Waste" and introduce a food donation handbook in Vietnam, coinciding with the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (September 29).

The "Stop Food Waste" campaign is a key initiative throughout the "Food For Change 2024" campaign, which runs from September until October 16 across all food bank networks in Vietnam. The program aims to raise community awareness about the reality of food waste and encourage people to change their consumption habits towards more responsible choices to save and minimize food waste.

In this campaign, the Food Law and Policy Clinic (FLPC) at Harvard Law School and other units have also collaborated to launch a key recommendation guide that can help Vietnam reduce food loss and waste.

At the event, Mrs. Le Nhat Thuy, Chairwoman of the C.P. Vietnam Charity Support Fund, shared: "This is an important moment and a milestone in the journey that C.P. Vietnam, along with its partners, has been contributing to addressing the issue of food loss and waste. This is also a significant mission that C.P. Vietnam consistently focuses on in its sustainable development journey, not only in Vietnam but also globally".

According to Mrs. Thuy, food loss and waste is a global issue that impacts not only the environment but also profoundly affects human lives. Every year, millions of tons of food are discarded while millions of people continue to face hunger and malnutrition. Food is not just a source of sustenance but also a source of hope, love and sharing. Therefore, the "Stop Food Waste" campaign that C.P. Vietnam is collaborating on with food bank networks aims not only to raise awareness about this issue but also to provide practical solutions for everyone to participate in the fight against food waste.

For many years, in addition to partnering with Foodbank Vietnam, organizations and government agencies to implement campaigns against food waste, C.P. Vietnam has also advocated and raised awareness about food waste among over 30.000 employees. Additionally, C.P. Vietnam applies practices to save and avoid food waste in all business production processes as well as in activities and events within the company, so that everyone can better understand the importance of food and the serious consequences of waste, which leads to scarcity and lack of food.
