On this occasion, Le Nhat Thuy, Senior Deputy General Director of C.P. Vietnam, shares a firm statement of “planting new and taking care of 10 ha of mangrove forests in 2024”. This activity is part of the project “C.P. Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam”, which plans to plant 1.5 million trees, contributing to the Prime Minister's goal of planting one billion trees "For a Green Vietnam" in Dong Nai province. This is also a socialized program, attracting all resources, economic sectors, organizations, households, and individuals to join hands.

“Over the years, C.P. Vietnam has become one of the companies actively participating in the program of planting one billion trees, helping the province achieve its goal of planting 20 million trees of all kinds. With the goal of expanding the project ‘C.P. Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam 2021 - 2025’, C.P. Vietnam has shown its commitment through the cooperation with Dong Nai province to support the planting and care of 10 ha of mangrove forests in the province in the 2023 - 2025 period,” said Tran Lam Sinh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to Deputy Director Sinh, after four years of implementing the program, with the active response of all levels, sectors, and business units, millions of trees of all kinds have been planted within the province’s land. The job was completed in many forms, including concentrated afforestation, tree planting on roads, and supporting seedlings for localities.

With the support of Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai, in 2023, C.P. Vietnam planted 10,500 mangrove trees in an area of 4 ha. This year the company will continue to plant and care for an additional 6 ha of mangrove trees in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district, managed by the Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board.

“This is the second year we have planted forests in Phuoc An commune, Long Thanh district. During this period, we will continue to plant 20,000 trees according to the plan of C.P. Vietnam, as committed to Dong Nai province. We are always aware that tree planting is not only a matter of ‘today’, but we also need to have solutions to protect and care for the forest trees in the future, thereby developing sustainable greening,” said Senior Deputy General Director of C.P. Vietnam Le Nhat Thuy.

Not stopping at Dong Nai, the company also plants forests in many other provinces. This activity has created conditions for C.P. Vietnam's staff to experience reality, helping people better understand the mangrove ecosystem and biodiversity. The implementation of the sustainable forest planting project of C.P Vietnam results in an increase in the forest area, helping to neutralize carbon towards net zero emissions, reduce greenhouse gases, protect the ecological environment, and adapt to climate change. The program also brings many sustainable values and benefits to the community, creating additional income for local people.

"Dong Nai is a province with many industrial parks, enterprises, and factories, hence rapid urbanization, so planting trees holds even more significant meaning. Up to now, the province has planted approximately 17 million trees of all kinds, reaching 85% of the 5-year plan target, contributing to stabilizing the tree coverage rate in the whole province at 52% and the forest coverage rate at over 28.9%, exceeding the target issued by the provincial leaders," said Deputy Director Tran Lam Sinh.
