Nguyen Ngoc Thach - Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Agriculture News - affirmed that the goal of the forum is to promote information enhancement, production, and consumption of agricultural products.
One of the causes was that information and space for contact and connection between producers, sellers, and consumers were sabotaged. Suppliers and customers have no idea where to trade. In light of the current circumstances, the Executive Team of MARD and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Steering Committee on Agricultural Market Development have agreed to hold a forum on "Agricultural Production and Consumption" on August 31.
Thach said that the forum's objective is to strengthen information, boost agricultural output, and increase consumption, all under the auspices of the Steering Committee for Agricultural Market Development.
The Executive Team's responsibilities include organizing information forums on each topic and seasonal agricultural product industry; agricultural and rural tourism products in each locality and region; organizing talks (talkshows) with the participation of leaders from Ministries, Departments, Departments, Centers, local leaders, and experts on production organization; connecting agricultural product consumption; and proposing new agricultural products.
We identified and created a specific subject on agricultural connection, weekly agricultural market news films, and publishing information on tourist services... We assign personnel according to the tasks of each unit to update and develop information data in order to collect Big Data on the agriculture market on VAN.
Previously, the VAN collaborated with VOV Television to obtain directions on producing a weekly radio broadcast. Simultaneously, the Executive Team developed a website for agricultural product trading, such as "Online Market," which connects farmers to the market, between sellers and buyers; and developed a virtual agricultural product exhibition, which allows people to visit the exhibition in 3D and 4D space to learn about agricultural product quality and design.
Additionally, the executive team will use digital technology to handle agricultural information, map agricultural goods, and update data on agricultural production and pricing, particularly data on growing regions.
The Executive team will publish data online, including buyer and seller information, volume, and production, in order to attract a growing number of sellers and buyers.
Regarding the plan, Thach stated that due to the stressful context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Executive Team has set a short-term goal of quickly implementing the Complex of e-information website, which includes: a specialized page on agricultural markets, agricultural product market video newsletters, and a link between supply, demand, and state management agencies.
The Executive Team will host information forums in the coming months to foster relationships with localities and provinces, particularly Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The primary objective is to link the supply chain for agricultural inputs in order to boost output and prepare for year-end supplies, particularly in the early months of 2022.
