The rise in prices was driven by below-average rainfall in Brazil. According to Brazil’s weather agency Somar Meteorologia, the country’s largest Arabica-growing region, Minas Gerais, received only 17.9 mm of rain in the week ending April 12—just 89% of the historical average.
