Pangasius, white-leg shrimp, lobster, anchovies and crab are the five species of Vietnamese seafood most exported to China.

In particular, lobster and crab exports to this market made a strong breakthrough in the first quarter of this year, in which lobster increased 11 times and crab increased 7 times compared to the same period of last year.

Mrs. Le Hang, communications director of VASEP, said that not only did China and the US increase Vietnam's demand for shrimp and crab, but the export of these two species to Japan also showed positive signs. Of these, white-leg shrimp exports to Japan increased by 20%, and crab exports increased by 23%.

In addition, Vietnamese pangasius is increasingly popular in Japan, and pangasius exports to this market increased by 25% in the first quarter of this year. Japan also targets the Vietnamese market to process seafood products such as salmon, mackerel scad, basa fish...

There are still no clear signs of recovery for the EU and Korean markets for shrimp and pangasius, but tuna exports to these markets all grew positively: to the EU increased by 27%, to Korea increased by 15%.

In general, tuna exports to major markets are quite positive, with an increase of 30% to the US and 9% to Japan...

For pangasius, stock inventory in the US, China, and EU markets is no longer problematic. Export prices will increase again in markets. In addition to frozen fillet products, the trend of importing processed pangasius and by-products (fish maw, pangasius patties) continues to grow.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that in the first three months of this year, many agricultural products such as coffee, rice, vegetables... were sold by many countries in Asia, Europe, and America... increased buying at good prices.

Processed and deeply processed agricultural products are still a problem for the industry. The main export markets are still the US, China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, EU...
