Answering a reporter’ question as to when the Government would submit the projected Amendments to the National Assembly (NA), Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Judicial Affairs said the NA Standing Committee did mention the Land Law in the laws and ordinances formulation program so that its amendments could be submitted and reviewed for approval. The amendments had been in the making and would be submitted soon, as Mr. Giang believed. However, as a law, the amendments should follow the Constitution and general orientations of the Party. Therefore, the NA decided to wait for such orientations, to be more specific, the upcoming Document of the 13th Party Congress.
Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the NA Secretary General added, the NA had organized meetings with the Government to listen to its reports on how the current Law had “frustrated” people. Changes to the Law should be done methodically.
Another law reporters were interested in was the Protest Law. On why the Law had not been issued yet, Mr. Giang said, as a law, it should specify the 2013 Constitution, and such specification might take a stage, not just an NA term, and it had to be possible and practical. The making of the Protest Bill had been planned; however, the possibility of such law was still studied.
