AgriS Ninh Hoa invests in nearly 10,000 hectares of sugarcane cultivation area

Agris Ninh Hoa Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Agris Ninh Hoa) hosted an agricultural customer conference on October 25 in Ninh Hoa Town (Khanh Hoa Province). During the event, the company conducted a review of its 2023-2024 fiscal year, and launched its investment program for the years between 2024 and 2025.

According to the company's report, the 2023-2024 sugarcane harvest for Agris Ninh Hoa concluded on May 9, with significant achievements.

The company's total crushed sugarcane yield totaled over 540,000 tons, reaching approximately 98% of the planned target. This figure represents an increase of 10.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2023. The on-site purchase price for sugarcane averaged nearly 1.3 million VND per ton (10 CSS), a slight increase from the previous crop, with stable prices maintained throughout the harvest. Additionally, the sugarcane yield averaged at 60 tons per hectare, reaching 90.7% of the target. This is an increase of 1.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

In addition to its investment policy to expand the sugarcane cultivation area, the company has promptly mobilized and coordinated more than 500 vehicles to provide stable transportation for sugarcane farmers throughout the crop cycle. Furthermore, it offered harvesting services with 22 work teams, all of whom were equipped with grab-loaders to address labor shortages and expedite sugarcane loading, thereby meeting 30% of the region’s total harvested output. With these measures, the company has rapidly harvested and transported sugarcane to the factory on schedule, enhancing profitability for farmers.

During the last sugarcane season, the company and local farmers jointly invested more than 715 million VND to improve and repair internal transport roads across the sugarcane cultivation areas. By the end of the 2023-2024 crop cycle, Agris Ninh Hoa completed settlements and supported sugarcane farmers with over 14 billion VND in production expenses, focusing on seed varieties, organic microbial fertilizers, and crop conversion costs to promote stable production.

Vo Thi Thuy Tien, Director of Agris Ninh Hoa, stated that for the 2023-2024 crop cycle, the company invested in nearly 10,000 hectares of sugarcane, surpassing its planned target by over 113%. This is an increase of 1.97% compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Notable, over 1,000 hectares of this area were converted from low-efficiency crops to sugarcane, a milestone in Agris Ninh Hoa's path to developing raw material areas in the provinces of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak.

"As we make significant progress in implementing our 2025-2030 strategic plan, the 2024-2025 crop serves as a pivotal year for Agris Ninh Hoa. The company will continue its investment program with a strong focus on support, thereby enabling our customers to confidently expand their sugarcane cultivation areas, increase productivity, and reduce production costs," emphasized Director Tien. "This approach is intended to bring higher profits to sugarcane farmers and contribute significantly to the local economy."

Le Ba Ninh, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, noted that Agris Ninh Hoa has focused on lowering production costs and implemented various direct investment policies for fertilizers, crop protection products, sugarcane varieties, and sugarcane purchasing to protect farmers' interests.

With the goal of achieving a successful 2024-2025 sugarcane crop, the province's agricultural sector will coordinate with each region and local sugar companies to review and expand sugarcane cultivation areas in accordance with the province’s agricultural restructuring plan. Moreover, the province will shift its focus toward organizing raw sugarcane production by fostering partnerships between local farmers and the business community to establish stable, concentrated sugarcane material areas.

In addition, the department’s specialized agencies will collaborate with sugar companies to enhance sugarcane extension services, with an emphasis on replicating and promoting effective farming models. These initiatives will include selecting high-yield, pest-resistant sugarcane varieties and implementing cultivation and care practices that are suitable for the soil and climate conditions of each region.

At the event, Agris Ninh Hoa also awarded 39 exemplary farmers for high sugarcane sales, significant contributions, and transport providers who complied with company policies during the 2023-2024 crop cycle.

For the 2024-2025 crop cycle, Agris Ninh Hoa plans to invest in land preparation and mechanized planting for over 1,300 hectares, with subsurface plowing and applications of microbial fertilizers combined with NPK across nearly 1,400 hectares. The company’s total investment capital in sugarcane farmers is expected to reach over 135 billion VND. This amount will cover all aspects of sugarcane farming, from land preparation to cultivation and tending.
