Acecook will hold a press conference to announce the absence of Ethylene Oxide residues.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development hosted a conference on September 11 themed "Connecting fresh agriculture supply and demand for Ho Chi Minh City amid social distancing."
According to Director Tran Minh Hai of the Center for Training and Economic Consulting, a member of Working Group 970, the stagnation of herbs and tubers such as coriander, ginger, and galangal (as input materials in the production of instant noodles) as of September 1 is uncommon.
He suggested that the standstill might be a result of information regarding residual Ethylene Oxide in Acecook Company's instant noodles products sold in the European market. However, there is currently no formal information establishing a connection between Ethylene Oxide and herbs.
In response to this problem, Deputy Minister of MARD Tran Thanh Nam said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade submitted a letter to the Government Office claiming that Acecook Company complies with Vietnamese legislation when compared to food safety requirements and regulations.

According to the FFA's president, the problem perplexed instant noodle manufacturers, who were scrambling to determine if the Ethylene Oxide was left in green onions or vegetables.
Acecook Company is an FDI business, and as such, they take great care with this information. They brought samples of herbs and tubers used as spices in the manufacture of instant noodles for inspection and testing at two renowned international inspection units, despite the fact that the MoIT had not directed them to do so.
Acecook has just submitted an official report to the FFA in Ho Chi Minh City stating that all components used to make Hao Hao instant noodles are entirely free of Ethylene Oxide. The Association just submitted the aforementioned report to the MARD, and Acecook Company is scheduled to conduct a press conference to provide formal information on this matter.
