According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, for the first 10 months of this year, the export of wood and wood merchandise to the USA reached USD 7,204 billion, an increase of 29,2% over the same session in 2020.
Thus, the export of wood and wood merchandise to the US in the past ten months exceeded the 2020 record of USD 7.166 billion.
The USA continues to be the largest market regarding export for Vietnam’s wood industry, accounting for 60% of the total export turnover of wood and wood merchandise of the country.
Information given by the International Trade Centre (ITC) shows that Vietnam is currently the world's largest supplier of wooden furniture to the US market, making up to 40% of the market share of wooden furniture imported into this country.
The next two markets in line are China (reached USD 1.238 billion; accounting for 10%) and Japan (reached USD 1,155 billion; accounting for 9%) the total export turnover of wood and wood merchandise in the 10 months.
For the last ten months, the export of wood and wood merchandise also recorded very strong growth in markets: Malaysia up 62.40%, the Netherlands up 31,36%, and Thailand up 32,77%.
