Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival attracts young people

(VAN) The Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival and Yosakoi Vietnam Festival 2024 took place vibrantly and attractively in Hanoi on April 13-14.

In order to contribute to promoting the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the two countries establishing diplomatic relations, the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Association presides and coordinates with Nui Truc Japanese Center - Sugi Ryotaro, Hanoi Opera House, Institute for Research on Development of Culture, Language and Education, Kim Dong Publishing House, Aeon Mall Ha Dong Commercial Center and a number of agencies in Kochi province (Japan), in order to organize the 2nd Yosaokoi Vietnam Festival and the 2024 Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival.

During the two days of April 13-14, the 2nd Yosaokoi Vietnam Festival and the 2024 Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival brought to the public a vibrant, colorful atmosphere, through captivating performances of 19 strong Yosakoi teams from Vietnam and 5 Yosakoi teams from Japan.

19 Vietnamese Yosakoi teams represent all three regions: North, Central, and South, coming from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City, with a total of nearly 800 dancers.

5 Japanese Yosakoi teams participated in the event with 70 members, including teams: Softbank (from Tokyo); Tiida- ASEAN Yosakoi All-stars with JP (from Tokyo); Mugenkajipitu (from Osaka); Tacyon (from Kochi Prefecture); Bakankihetai (from Yamaguchi Prefecture).

Mr. Le Ngoc Dinh, former Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Association, Head of the Organizing Committee affirmed that this festival not only help the audience understand more about some traditional cultural features of the two countries, but also contributes to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world between Vietnam and Japan. At the same time, aiming to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the two countries establishing diplomatic relations.

"This is truly a big festival of the Yosakoi community in Vietnam, bringing vibrant, colorful, healthy but also very cheerful performances...", Mr. Le Ngoc Dinh said.

At the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival, audiences have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of Vietnamese ao dai, along with displays introducing some unique cultural features of the two countries such as: Experiencing Japanese costumes Yukata, Origami art, Japanese chess, Japanese Go, Japanese games...

Moreover, audiences can experience and make their own traditional Dong Ho paintings with the guidance of Vietnamese artisans. Young people can also find attractive comic books from Kim Dong Publishing House.
