In addition, there are 42 households and 2 cooperatives that are cooperating and developing well in organic, biosafety pig farming, linked along the value chain with more than 300 sows and 6,000 pigs for meat. An organic pig farm at 4F livestock complex in Phong Thu commune, Phong Dien district, has a scale of 100 sows, 2,200 breeding pigs, and pigs for meat. About 30 high-tech livestock facilities apply barn cooling technology and automatic drinking water... forming joint ventures in high-tech livestock farming.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director of the Department of Livestock and Animal Husbandry in Thua Thien-Hue, organic and biosafety livestock models have helped businesses and farmers save a lot of production costs, protect the environment, and prevent diseases. In the coming time, the province will continue to expand to households to ensure livelihoods and jobs for people, while contributing to effective restructuring of the livestock industry.
