On April 3rd, Hoang Lien National Park announced that it had received two asiatic black bears from Mr. Ly A Gio, who handed them over to the Muong Nhe district forest ranger station in Dien Bien province.
After receiving the bears, they were transferred to the Hoang Lien tourism and wildlife conservation center, a division of Hoang Lien National Park. They will be cared for and managed according to regulations for wild animals.

The two bears weigh 2.5 kg and 2.7 kg, and both are in good health. Since being brought to the park, they have adapted well to the climate and have been eating normally.
It is known that the asiatic black bear is a species listed in the Red Book, with a high risk of extinction. This species is also referred to by other names, such as the Tibetan black bear or the Himalayan black bear. The asiatic black bear is of medium size and is distinguished by its white fur on the chest.
