Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam acknowledged, on behalf of MARD, Sorimachi Group's (Japan) assistance to Vietnamese agricultural cooperatives, particularly in the transmission and training of accounting and production management diary software.

Regarding the Japanese company, Mr. Sorimachi Hideki stated that the group has concentrated on five fields—fintech, areatech, countech, agrictech, and retailtech—during its seventy years of existence and operation.

Sorimachi Group establishes connections with approximately 50% of the accounting data of 200,000 agricultural production enterprises operating in Japan. In which, on the basis of the gathered data, counting activities are implemented and additional services that generate new value-added benefits for farmers and cooperatives are proposed.

Mr. Sorimachi Hideki reports that the Group has conducted 62 classes in Vietnam over the past two years (53 online training classes and 9 direct training classes) to train agricultural cooperatives nationwide on digitalization and the use of WACA Cooperative Software and FaceFarm Software.

The Sorimachi Group additionally engages in partnerships and provides assistance to the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Departments, and Institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in order to facilitate more than 50 training sessions that empower agricultural officers and cooperatives through the practical implementation of software. As a result, approximately 10,000 agricultural cooperatives have undergone training, during which participants are granted complimentary software applications for a duration of six months (equivalent to an annual cost of 2 million dong per cooperative). At present, more than 5,000 agricultural cooperatives have established user accounts for these two software applications, with 500 of those cooperatives having made software purchases.

As a result of the results changing the perspectives of local officials and agricultural cooperatives concerning the implementation of digital transformation, a number of exceptional agricultural cooperatives have emerged as forerunners in the implementation of digital transformation for business operations and production. Mr. Sorimachi stated that as a consequence, twelve Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development have allocated funds for the purchase of software that will assist agricultural cooperatives in their respective regions.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam stated, on on the part of MARD, that the two software programs supplied by the Sorimachi Group are closely aligned with the agricultural development trends in Vietnam, which center on the implementation of digital technology in production. Deputy Minister Nam expressed agreement at MARD with the capacity building and training socialization mechanism, as well as the Sorimachi Group's strategic approach to offering assistance via these software programs that are in line with the circumstances and capabilities of Vietnamese farmers.

Moreover, he proposed that Training of Trainers (ToT) programs for agricultural extension officers in the Mekong Delta region incorporate this concept.

"I propose that the Sorimachi Group also supports accounting and production management software for the two main target groups, namely agricultural cooperatives and agricultural extension officers, in the one-million-hectare high-quality rice cultivation project in the Mekong Delta," Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam suggested.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Sorimachi Group implement training programs for agricultural cooperatives across the nation in collaboration with twenty-eight institutes and universities affiliated with MARD. Additionally, he proposed establishing communication with MARD units in order to coordinate deployment in a variety of other sectors, including aquaculture, forestry, and livestock production, etc.

Sorimachi Vietnam is a 100% owned company of Sorimachi Corporation (Japan) undertaking offshore development for "Oh Series" products that Sorimachi develops and supplies to Japan market such as Kaikeio, Hanbaio, Kyuryoo and parts, agriculture-related software. Sorimachi Vietnam also provides Contents services.
