The event attracted nearly 200 participants, including representatives from the Can Tho Department of Agriculture and Environment, leaders of the Can Tho Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Center, the management board of Binh Dien II Fertilizer Company, and representatives from 103 commune, and ward-level integrated service centers responsible for agricultural extension activities.
Under the cooperation agreement, the two parties will establish a partnership for the distribution, promotion, and technical transfer of new-generation organic NPK fertilizer products under the 2Phong brand to farmers and cooperative systems throughout Can Tho. The cooperation aims to optimize production costs, improve farming efficiency, and align with the trend toward green agriculture and greenhouse gas emission reduction currently promoted in Vietnam and many countries worldwide.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc stated that cooperation with fertilizer enterprises is an important step toward strengthening agricultural production linkages within the city.
According to Mr. Duc, the Can Tho Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Center will cooperate with commune- and ward-level integrated service centers not only to transfer scientific and technical knowledge but also to provide officially certified agricultural inputs at competitive prices, reducing intermediary layers for farmers.
“We are not only linking in technical transfer but also aiming to connect with cooperatives and rice-exporting enterprises to gradually establish product purchasing agreements for farmers. This is a pathway toward forming sustainable production chains and increasing agricultural product value,” Mr. Duc emphasized.

According to the memorandum of understanding, activities will focus on organizing training courses, seminars, demonstration models, and technical transfer programs related to the use of new-generation organic NPK fertilizers.
In addition, the two parties will regularly exchange information on markets, sales policies, and agricultural production conditions while coordinating communication programs, panel discussions, and product introduction activities suited to local realities.
The Can Tho Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Center committed to prioritizing the introduction of fertilizer products applying new technologies that support emission reduction, environmental protection, and higher economic efficiency for producers.
Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Chairman and General Director of Binh Dien II Fertilizer Company, highly appreciated the attention given by Can Tho’s agricultural sector and local agricultural extension officers to this cooperation program.
According to Mr. Phong, the strong participation of commune and ward leaders as well as agricultural extension staff at the signing ceremony reflects growing local interest in transitioning toward greener production, lower costs, and higher efficiency.
The company believes that with close cooperation between enterprises and the agricultural extension system, technical transfer programs will be implemented effectively, helping farmers access advanced farming solutions suited to current market requirements.

“Through this cooperation signing ceremony, we hope to open up a new linkage model between the agricultural extension system and businesses, contributing to the development of green, modern, and sustainable agriculture in Can Tho,” Mr. Phong said.
One of the key priorities identified by both sides is developing the grassroots agricultural extension system in a more professional direction while strengthening the role of agricultural extension collaborators at commune and ward levels. At the same time, they plan to mobilize participation from research institutes, universities, and experts in scientific and technological transfer activities serving agricultural production.
Beyond crop cultivation, the cooperation program also aims to support farmers and cooperatives in accessing market information and shifting agricultural production thinking toward an agricultural economy model, gradually adapting to emission reduction requirements throughout agricultural value chains.
