Standing member of Vietnam’s Party Secretariat elected as state President

(VAN) On the afternoon of October 21, Standing Member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong was elected President after the National Assembly passed a resolution on his election with 440 out of 440 votes in favor.

On the afternoon of October 21, the Standing Member of the Party Secretariat, Luong Cuong, was elected President after the National Assembly passed a resolution with a unanimous 440 out of 440 votes. This result represents 100% of the delegates present, accounting for 91.67% of the total membership of the National Assembly.

Earlier, the National Assembly Standing Committee submitted a draft resolution nominating General Luong Cuong for the presidency in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws.

In his oath before the National Assembly, the people, and voters nationwide, President Luong Cuong declared: “Under the sacred red flag with the yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and the people and voters nationwide, I, Luong Cuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear to remain absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the people, and to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and to strive to fulfill the tasks entrusted to me by the Party, the State, and the people."
