Son La: Supporting agricultural enterprises to list on e-commerce platforms

(VAN) With the advantage of selling on many online platforms, Son La City has deployed support for businesses and production facilities to bring products to e-commerce platforms and social networking sites.

From 2021 to now, the City has coordinated 35 training courses on transferring production techniques according to VietGAP processes and guiding the development of concentrated raw material areas, ensuring product safety and quality. Supported the granting of VietGAP and GlobalGAP certificates for 54.5 hectares of coffee and over 166 hectares of fruit trees; supported the granting of growing area codes for nearly 93 hectares of fruit trees; almost 40 hectares of coffee were granted 4C, UTZ, RA certificates; supported the construction of a product identification and traceability system for 5 cooperatives; supported 3 cooperatives to purchase new packaging for products and supported the development of 10 OCOP products; developed 8 more safe agricultural food supply chains, bringing the total to 15 chains. At the same time, support VND 640 million for 7 enterprises and cooperatives to develop brands and expand markets according to Resolution 128/2020/NQ-HDND dated February 28, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council; support over VND 217 million for 5 households to build facilities for preliminary processing, processing and preserving agricultural products according to Decision No. 1818/QD-UBND dated July 28, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee. In addition, support VND 1.7 billion for Bich Thao Son La Coffee Cooperative to build factories and expand production and processing scale.

With the city's support, help cooperatives expand production and business scale and build models for high productivity and income. The red-fleshed dragon fruit model of An Phu Agricultural Cooperative, Chieng An ward, yielded 22 tons per hectare, with a profit reaching VND 200-250 million per hectare; 3B commercial cow breeding model in Chieng Den commune, with a profit of about VND 200 million per year; orange growing model in Chieng Xom commune, with a yield of 20 tons of fruit per hectare, a profit of VND 350 million per hectare; specialty coffee growing model of Bich Thao Son La Coffee Cooperative, with an average annual export of 4,000-6,000 tons of coffee beans, 1.5 tons of roasted and ground coffee and ground coffee, with a revenue of VND 40 billion, creating stable jobs for 10 local workers, with an income of VND 5-6 million per month.

The product consumption support program has been implemented, the city has coordinated with provincial departments, branches, and sectors, telecommunications and postal corporations to organize training programs, foster knowledge about e-commerce; support training, guide livestream sales on social networks, reputable e-commerce platforms at home and abroad.

To date, 50 OCOP and typical City products have been sold on the PostMart e-commerce platform (buudien.vn); over 700 businesses have opened accounts and are equipped with QR-Codes for cashless payments. In particular, coffee products of Bich Thao Son La Coffee Cooperative are sold at OCOP stores and Mega Market supermarket system; safe vegetable products of Son La Safe Agricultural Products Cooperative, Chieng Den commune, and red-fleshed dragon fruit products of An Phu Agricultural Cooperative, Chieng An ward are sold at safe vegetable stores in the province and Hanoi city...

Continuing to implement mechanisms and policies on agricultural and rural development, Son La city focuses on supporting enterprises, cooperatives, agricultural production and trading establishments to build and develop key and typical agricultural products; gradually applying modern trade promotion forms. Support the development of agricultural product distribution systems; participate in regional and local agricultural product fairs and conferences connecting supply and demand of goods.

According to Tran Cong Chinh, Vice Chairman of Son La City People's Committee, the city has directed specialized departments to research, advise, and propose mechanisms and policies for digital transformation in the agricultural sector. Build and replicate safe agricultural production models, apply sensors and smart devices that are connected and automatically controlled throughout the production process. Promote modern trade promotion, such as e-marketing, and encourage businesses to build their websites to promote and introduce their brands and products

To specify the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, the Provincial Party Executive Committee issued Resolution No. 08-NQ/TU dated January 21, 2021, on concentrated, sustainable development of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, applying high technology until 2025, with a vision to 2030. With the viewpoint of "Promoting green growth; building Son La to develop rapidly and sustainably; becoming a center for high-tech agricultural development in the Northwest region". Implementing Resolution No. 08, the Provincial People's Committee issued 10 plans and 6 projects, established a Working Group to monitor and implement the Resolution, and encouraged and attract businesses, cooperatives, and people to invest in agricultural and rural development.
