Mr Doan Ngoc Pha, Deputy Director of Project VnSAT An Giang said: In order to form a large-scale rice material area linked with businesses, over the past time, Project VnSAT An Giang has promoted training and demonstrated many rice-growing models according to VietGAP and SRP standards, continued to improve farmers' capacity to meet the requirements of specific businesses: Trained and educated 1 class of SRP trainers, 33 classes of VietGAP, SRP with 1,490 households and conducted 19 demonstration sites, printed 3,000 manuals on the application of SRP sustainable rice production standards.
The association between Tan Vuong Co., Ltd and Tan Lap Cooperative, Tan Lap commune (Tinh Bien district, An Giang), for example, initially only contracted for 100 ha for the 2017-2018 winter-spring crop, then the area increased for each crop, by 2020 - 2021, this has increased to 1,300 ha/crop in the commune and expanded to other communes. Particularly in 2020, the total area under contract for rice production and consumption of Tan Vuong Company in Tan Lap commune under Project VnSAT reached more than 1,500 ha/crop.
The fine implementation of business linking models has created a strong spillover effect over the area of the Project VnSAT. The area of rice production and consumption link between cooperatives/groups and businesses through contracts increasing with each crop. Particularly, the largest contract of production area is the winter-spring crop 2019 - 2020 with 6,037 ha. Many businesses participated in the stable link such as: Loc Troi Group Joint Stock Company, Tan Vuong Co., Ltd., An Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Angimex), Gentraco Co., Ltd. ...
To promote linkages between businesses that guarantee rice offtake for farmers and cooperatives in recent years, Project VnSAT An Giang has always promoted many training courses to improve the management capacity of farmer organizations. In which, training personnel to manage cooperatives and cooperative groups due to the lack of management knowledge that stems from farming backgrounds.
