According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Pakistan, the country’s Government has begun to tighten the inspection of the quality of tea imported from Vietnam. As a consequence, businesses need to pay attention to product safety to maintain this traditional market.

Additionally, Vietnamese tea exported to Pakistan must meet a special regulation on controlling aflatoxin content in exported tea products. Simultaneously, packages and labels must be suitable for Islamic culture and have a certificate of Islamic standard issued by a competent authority.

If it is able to meet the standards and regulations of the Pakistani market, Vietnamese tea will have the opportunity to expand its market share in this market.

According to the General Department of Customs, Pakistan is the largest market for Vietnamese tea. In 2021, tea exports to Pakistan reached 44,000 tons, worth $86 million. The Pakistani market accounts for 34.4% of Vietnam's tea exports.
