According to the General Department of Customs, in the first eight months of 2021, total animal feed imports increased by 30.9% over the same period in 2020, reaching US$ 3.33 billion and increased from most major markets.
Argentina continues to be the largest animal feed supplier to Vietnam with nearly US$ 1.14 billion, up 8.5% over the same period in 2020 and accounting for 34.3% of this commodity group's total import turnover.
Animal feed imports from the US reached US$ 552.39 million, a sharp increase of 67.5% over the same period, accounting for 16.6% of the total import turnover.
Brazil ranked third with US$ 393.49 million, a sharp increase of 57.4% over the same period, accounting for 11.8% of total import turnover.
Animal feed imports from the EU market in the first eight months of the year also increased by over 55.9% over the same period in 2020, reaching US$ 273.21 million. Animal feed imports from the Southeast Asian market increased by 17%, reaching US$ 244.22 million.
