The Department of Information and Communications collaborated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to hold a press conference on April 14, in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province. The participants discussed the organization of the 2023 Ninh Thuan Grape and Wine Festival as well as the ceremony to welcome UNESCO's recognition of "Cham people's art of pottery as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection".
Accordingly, both of the aforementioned events will be held from June 13 to June 18 with the theme of "Ninh Thuan - The land of different values".

The festival will feature many activities such as: 2023 Industry and Trade Fair for the South Central Region - Ninh Thuan; Food Festival; Street art performances; art performances at the opening ceremony for the 2023 Ninh Thuan Grape and Wine Festival and UNESCO's recognition of "Cham people's art of pottery as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection"; Workshop on value development for vine and grape products; Workshop on preserving and promoting the value of "Cham people's art of pottery"; experience tours around the vineyards, Bau Truc pottery village, My Nghiep brocade weaving and Discovery Tour for Nui Chua world biosphere reserve; Contest for the most beautiful grape vinyard; and many other activities.
Ninh Thuan Grape and Wine Festival is held biannually with the aim of building a unique festival brand that is diverse and rich in identity. On the other hand, the festival honors the cultural quintessence of various ethnic groups within the province of Ninh Thuan. The 2023 Ninh Thuan Grape and Wine Festival will be held in conjunction with the ceremony to welcome UNESCO's recognition of "Cham people's art of pottery as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection". This celebration is a crucial event to promote the image, the land, the people, the natural landscape and the signature products of Ninh Thuan.

The festival is also an opportunity to honor the values of the local grapes, distinguishing the differences of Ninh Thuan grapes in a detailed manner; open up new opportunities for trade between grape farmers, producers and consumers with products processed from grapes.
According to Mr. Truong Khac Tri, Deputy Director of Ninh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, grapes are the key crop of the province. There are currently 1,060 hectares of grapes in Ninh Thuan, which is also the fourth most valuable crop of the agricultural sector. Over the past few years, the agricultural sector has cooperated with Nha Ho Cotton Research and Agricultural Development Institute to select and create multiple new grape varieties for mass production. Thanks to technical support, many grape production areas generate a considerable amount of profit every year.
