According to the Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Sub-Department (Nam Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), by December 2024, the whole province will have over 500 agricultural and aquatic product production and processing establishments granted a certificate of food safety eligibility; 137 establishments and businesses building and applying advanced quality management programs such as HACCP, GMP, VietGAP, ISO, etc.
In localities in the province, there are 119 raw material areas granted planting area codes and 53 establishments applying electronic logbook software to manage production and product quality. 170 businesses use QR codes to trace the origin of 230 lines of processed agricultural products. The province's two clam areas are qualified to harvest and supply for export processing, of which the 500-hectare clam farming area in coastal communes of Nghia Hung district is certified to apply sustainable clam farming according to ASC international standards.
The coastal region of Nam Dinh in the Nghia Hung and Giao Thuy districts has favorable conditions for developing bivalve mollusc farming areas, including clams.
Businesses and production facilities have proactively applied and changed technology and invested in building facilities and equipment to enhance deep processing and create quality products. At the same time, apply advanced quality management programs to production and processing.
Many agricultural product processing factories have synchronous and modern investment in science and technology, such as Lenger Seafoods Vietnam Company Limited and Toan Xuan Rice Milling Factory. The quality and value of Nam Dinh province's agricultural products are constantly being improved, meeting market requirements. Many products have been upgraded and improved in quality and design to meet the requirements of demanding markets such as Japan, the US, and the EU.
