Movement to implement the agricultural restructuring project launched in Tay Ninh

(VAN) A plan of an emulation movement to implement the provincial agricultural restructuring scheme for the period of 2021-2025 has been approved by the Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

A plan of an emulation movement to implement the provincial agricultural restructuring scheme for the period of 2021-2025 has been approved by the Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

Accordingly, the purpose of the emulation movement is to promote the results achieved in the agricultural sector in the province over the past years.

It also aims to continue the project on agricultural restructuring in Tay Ninh Province towards increasing added value and sustainable development to 2020, with a vision to 2030.

In the process of implementing the emulation movement, the locality will promote and implement effectively the policies that support agricultural development such as land policies regarding the efficiency of agricultural land use, the concentration and accumulation of agricultural land and flexible use of agricultural land.

According to Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, that the emulation would contribute to improving the level of research, transfer and application of science and technology in agriculture, such as agricultural science and technology projects, in addition to giving priority to key crops and livestock that are encouraged to develop, especially those with high yield and quality, being suitable to local natural and climatic conditions and resistant to pests.

It was also expected to create favorable conditions for the strong development of high-tech, environmentally friendly agricultural models suitable to farmers' production conditions, especially those that meet production quality standards, oriented towards meeting export requirements (VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic).

Additionally,the application of digital technology 4.0 and traceability software to agricultural production would be promoted during the implementation of the movement, he added

The Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee also said that the emulation movement will help agricultural and rural infrastructure to be further invested and developed, while localities would effectively implement the national target program on building new rural areas, building rural infrastructure synchronously, serving the development of agricultural production in accordance with the planning and in association with agricultural restructuring.

The center of the movement is focusing on completing key projects, 5-year medium-term public investment plan projects in the 2021-2025 period, especially the irrigation project in the west of Vam Co Dong river, phase 2. (consolidating main canals, level I, II, III canals); implement the upgrading of irrigation infrastructure in combination with intra-field traffic in service of crop transformation in the direction of agricultural restructuring.

The province encourages factories, especially those processing sugarcane, noodles, and rubber to restructure in an intensive way, applying and transforming equipment, processing technology, modern and advanced production lines, aiming towards producing a variety of products and meeting the export market standards.

The province pays special attention to attracting businesses to invest in factories and warehouses serving the processing and preservation of vegetables and fruits; cattle slaughter and meat processing plants; milk processing factories; seafood processing and wood processing plants.
