Mr. Vu Hong Long, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Di Linh district (Lam Dong) said that now local farmers have started to harvest macadamia. Lam Dong fresh macadamia products are currently purchased by traders, establishments and processing companies with prices ranging from VND 70,000 to 110,000/kg. The price of the pre-cracked macadamia is from VND 210,000 to 320,000/kg.

Macadamia farmers in Lam Ha district (Lam Dong) have also started the harvest season. Mr. Le Van Tu, a producer and trader of macadamia nuts in Tan Van commune (Lam Ha district), said that fresh macadamia nuts are being purchased by processing facilities for VND 85,000 - 90,000/kg. At this price, after deducting costs, 1 ha of macadamia trees will earn a large profit.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, the Director of Hoang Anh Maca Co., Ltd (Don Duong district, Lam Dong), currently, each day the unit buys 2-3 tons of fresh macadamia from households in the local area with the price from VND 85,000 - 90,000/kg.
Macadamia started to be grown in Lam Dong in 2006, and currently the province has about 8.5 thousand hectares of macadamia, with an output of over 3 thousand tons. Macadamia nuts are now grown in many districts of Don Duong, Lam Ha, Duc Trong, Di Linh, Bao Lam, Dam Rong, Lac Duong, Da Lat and Bao Loc. According to Lam Dong Agricultural Extension Center, the local average yield of macadamia is about 1.5 tons/ha/year.
